Long post sorry in advance!
Hello everyone this is my first post here I've been reading around on different sites and I feel like this is the one with the best and most honest advice. Here's my predicament, at 16 I got the Mirena IUD as a form of birth control. I wasn't sexually active at the time but had very long heavy and painful periods. At that point I was on hydrocodine and naproxen just for pain management when it came to my cramps. My OB recommended mirena and my mother and I agreed that I had to do something! Three years later at 19 I got married, shortly after the wedding I became pregnant WHILE still on Mirena. I made it to 13 weeks before I miscarried. At my doctors advice I kept the mirena as husband and I still were not planning on having children. At my five years (age 21) I decided to get it removed and my husband and I decided to start trying for a baby. I had periods regularly the first six months but after that nearly nothing. After a year TTC I went to a fertility specialist who basically didn't take me seriously bc of my age, he recommended vitamins and that I lose weight to help as I was very overweight. It's now been two years since we've originally started trying to conceive and each month the negatives are getting harder and harder to deal with. I'm 23 now my husband is 27 and we're ready to start our family. I realize I'm still young but every other woman in my family on my mothers side has experienced issues resulting in them getting hysterectomys before the age of 25. Both my mother and grandma are ovarian cancer survivors. I never thought I'd have a problem though as all the woman in my family were also very fertile. I feel like my doctors aren't taking me seriously and I'm running out of time. I lost over 100 pounds because my doctors said it would help me to conceive and still nothing. I've gone to two different specialist and even with my background they won't start with ivf because of my age. I've even thought about taking u/p clomid but since I have a cyst on one of my ovaries I don't think it's worth the risk. Adoption is an option but my husband and I are foster parents now and we see how long, expensive, and emotionally draining and honestly unpredictable the adoption process is. Please, has anyone else had trouble conceiving after IUD? Has anyone taken clomid while having an ovarian cyst? Any natural remedies or foods or even sexual positions you've tried that helped you conceive? Has anyone else felt like they were being ignored because of their age? Please any and all advice would help! We would love to just see a different doctor but there are only 2 fertility specialists in network for my husband and my insurance and both want us to try another year. I haven't even been given any tests other than an ultrasound that showed I have a cyst and my husband a test for his sperm count. I'm running out of options...
