i smoked pot when i was a young gal, im only 24 like but never mind, aniways i felt sick as a dog, i had a few spliffs and a couple of go's on a bong and a water pipe, i must say the way i felt that day was as if i was dying, so if i felt like that what on earth would a baby feel like, yes fair enough i think i went over the top but even so your baby is effected, my god i was spinning and spewing everywhere
love someone who cant handle LEGAL drugs

I don't want to sound like im preaching so i won't. i don't think what your doing is a good idea. Im glad you are even asking about this topic because in pregnancy we are pretty much all clueless at one point or another. I just think that if you really care about your unborn baby (i don't know how anyone couldn't) you will just put the baby first and even if it might not harm the baby, i don't think its a good idea to chance it. I have turned 21 since i have been pregnant, i have had to sacrifice lots of things that i wanted to do because I want my baby to have the best chance of survival and to be healthy. Everyday I worry if something is wrong with my baby in my stomach just due to other things like staying in the sun to long and etc... I couldn't imagine smoking weed while being pregnant and having to deal with that stress also. While i have been pregnant i have heard lots of stories about miscarraiges and still births, I couldn't imagine if that happened to me especially having to wonder all my life if I caused it. Please reconsider what your doing.

I am actually going into my ninth month and i smoke pot everyday. I really need it mostly because i have severe nauseau, but i will admit that i am addicted. So far the baby is perfectly normal and the doctor even said that it's gonna be a big baby. I know quite a few people that are products of pot smoking mothers and some of them even have above normal intelligence. the only thing i am really afraid of is that they will drug test my baby when i deliver and he will be taken away from me. But i live in Illinois and i'm not really sure what their laws are about that. But i think if things are wrong with your baby and you smoke pot it might just be hereditary or even something that was gonna happen regardless of whether or not you smoke pot. But i would definately check your state laws concerning this topic. But otherwise smoke away!!! also there was a study done in Jamaica on women who smokes pot while b___stfeeding and the results were awesome. The babys were bigger and more alert and caught on to stuff faster than others who haven't been exposed to it. I think smoking marijuana is 100% better than smoking ciggarrettes while pregnant but the only difference is that pot is illegal. But screw that. If anything liquor and ciggarrettes should be illegal. hope this helps

If you are on public a__sistance your baby and you will probably be tested. Also if your baby is suffereing from withdrawal symptoms, although n the case of mj there will be none. So you are pretty safe, if you aren't on public a__sistance, drug testing for any other reason falls into the gray area.

Does it take the usual 1 month average for pot to clear from a pregnant woman's system? And the baby?

It's too bad about the world we're lving in today that people think that because they live in America that they have a "right" to smoke weed when they are pregnant. Just wait and see how your lives turn out, I hope they're terrible, I really do. And I don't apologize for it either. It's because of people like you that we have to live this way. Mother's that are so selfish and addicted that not only do they smoke weed when they're pregnant but they feel no guilt while doing it. That's great guys, no wonder we're called "the great satan" here in America.

I don't really know who's still responding to this but I guess I just don't understand. I was reading through everyone's responses. Basically, it's like this, anything that you shouldn't be doing yourself, you shouldn't be doing when you're pregnant. Anything entering your body that's not supposed to be there is bad for you (smoke -- of any kind, other drugs, food, drinks, anything) Anything that affects you, affects your baby. If you're getting high, you feel dizzy or giggly or laid back, chill, or you feel sleepy -- now that's how your baby feels. Their heat rate slows down, their breathing slows down. Their brain is affected by pot just like yours is. It's quite possible that you still have the perfect child even though you smoked, but sometimes there are problems you can't even see. There is no reason to endorse any foreign substance. And pot is addicting, most of you wouldn't know what it feels like to have withdraw because you've never gone a day without it. You'll never know how you'll feel without it, until you're without it.

I truely hope that this question is a joke. I fit is not a joke, well, I feel you have larger problems than just the marijuana use. I fear that by you making the choice to put your filthy habit over the health and well being of your unborn child, than when your child is born, the outlook for your child's future is bleak.
You have no right to be a parent when you are asking such ridiculous questions. This is not about you anymore. Think about it!!!

What is ridiculous is 90% of the responses posted here! IMO both sides of this arguement are just being ignorant. Truthfully, no one knows anything.. whether it's good or it's bad.. really! Please stop pretending you do. In all actuality, the question was "if anyone knows of anyone that weed caused problems as far as the baby is concerned." so unless you know someone who smoked it while pregnant, or did yourself, please stop responding with posts that have the additude.. it's fine, it makes you smarter, or.. no your baby will be born with flippers.. it's not helping. I am sorry, i don't want to be rude, i'm not trying to start a fight, but this is not a topic anyone can win.

Where's your brain? This thread is obviously more than 4 months old. Unless Crystal is 11 months pregnant.......I don't think she needs your help anymore. Lay off the weed lady.
