Persistent Cough Phlegm Nasal Congestion

Since I found out I was pregnant 5months ago, I've been back and forth to my doctor with a persistent cough. At the first few visits, she said it was probably a virus and to wait a few more weeks until it had cleared. Another month or so had passed and my symptoms hadn't eased, and so she sent off a sample of the sputum (phlegm), prescribed Amoxicillin 500mg for a week and has now test me for Asthma. I completed the course of antibiotics, still no change. She then diagnosed me with Asthma and gave me a Ventolin pump and beconaze steroid nasal spray for the nasal congestion. A week later I was in hospital with a wheezing chest, phlegm, blocked nose and real difficulty breathing, I had a chest x-ray and blood tests which both came back clear. They kept me in and observed every hour, but nothing major was found. They gave me a stronger antibiotic called Co-Amoxiclav and sent me home. After completing the course of Co-Amoxiclav I still had a persistent cough, wheezing, nasal congestion and more phlegm than ever. I went back to my doctor who has told me to continue with the beconaze steroid spray for my nose and has also given me a steroid inhaler called Seretide as well as putting me on Prednisolone steroid tablets for a week. I'm still feeling no relief from my symptoms and am going insane! I'm still coughing up phlegm, wheezing and have a constant blocked nose. When I asked the doctor if it had anything to do with the pregnancy (I thought that this was relevant as I've only had these symptoms since conceiving) she said that there was no link at all and dismissed the idea completely. Has anybody else had these symptoms whilst being pregnant?? Any ideas / suggestions on what I could do next would be very much appreciated. Thank you x

I googled "phlegm during pregnancy" and came up with enough hits that you might consider printing out one or two to show the doc. Rhinitis of pregnancy is another term.
