My fiance has been on the pill for 11 years. We so badly want to have a kid. She wants to leave the pill at the end of the month. Are there any implications that she should be aware of when she leaves the pill. And if it is that we are both 100% healthy to have kids, how long will it take for her body to work the pill out.

Hi There. I have been asking the same question on here for a bit now and no-one has responded. Me and my B/F have been trying and i have been on the pill for 8 years.
Good luck with trying,

Hi. My OB suggested that I stop the pill and use another form of birth control (condoms or whatever) for two months. He told me that the pill stays in your system and can cause problems to an unborn child. I did what he told me and I got pregnant my first month of trying. Good luck!

My research indicates you can start trying the minute you quit the pill. I've read that the "waiting period" is an old school idea left over from the days of high dose pills. Today's pills contain such small amounts of hormones, the chances of fetal harm are virtually nonexistent for women who get pregnant while on the pill, much less for those who get pregnant the first month after quitting. I would go for it.
