I just found out I am pregnant and I told my boyfriend of 5 years. We have lived together for 3 years and are very happy together. But ever since I told him he seems like he doesnt want to touch me. He says he's just in shock... Will he get over it? Did any other guys feel this way when you found out? why doesnt he want to touch me? please help!!!

Please tell me the same. We've been together for three years, and I thought we were happy... talked about what we'd do if an accident happened... and now that I'm pregnant none of it means anything, apparently.

Not a guy here but I have asked my DH about this. He says that it is scary for the man just as it is for the woman. He stated that even he was scared in the beginning(and we are married remember). Apparently more runs through their minds than we know. He worries about the changes, the idea of what kind of father he will be, having to help with a newborn, etc. He is really scared because of me having to face the birth(I plan on the natural thing). DH says sit down and talk to your man and have a heart to heart. Dolfinchik...maybe by touching you he is scared of hurting the baby in anyway. Liz...don't let your hormones and pregnancy state get in your way. Don't jump to conclusions. Just sit and talk. Good Luck and God Bless to you both.

Well being in shock sounds normal. As long as he isn't treating you in a disrespectful way, just give him a little time to get used to the idea.Just follow sonotec75's advice. Sit down and have a talk with him and see if you two can work through his fears. Take care!
