My baby is 10 months today - we just had the 2 month check up this afternoon and I forgot to ask one question... Am I supposed to be boiling the water for his formula if I am using bottled water? I have been doing it and it's such a pain!

Mine is 2 months. I boiled my filtered water everyday. I use a flask to store the hot boiled water and a jug to store the cooled boiled water... so I don't have to boil water all the time. I prefer warm milk and it disolves the formula better too.

I asked a similar question before. Mothers told me they stoppedboiling water by 1 years of age. A few said they never boiled theirs. I plan to continue boiling his water by 1 years. He's 8 months now.

I have well water and I asked his pediatrician if I should boil his water and she said no you drink it right? And I said yes! I did buy nursery water for the first 3 months. I have a filter on my faucet water so I just filter the water for his formula. He has never had a poblem yet!

If I were you I would use Nursery Water from either Targer, WalMart or a grocery store. It can either be found on the water isle or the baby isle. It has flouride for their teeth and gums and there is no reason to boil it. We just used a measuring cup to heat it in the microwave.

The tap water here has flouride in it anyways. I use distilled water in the water cooler. I just warm it up.

I use the baby water because I hated boiling it. I think it depends on where you live and how safe the water is. Call your doctor to find out about the water in your area and what is recommended.

nursery water? Gee, I have never heard of it. It would make life so much easier to not have to boil. I guess we don't have it here. darn

If you live in a city with regular tap water it should be fine unless your pediatrician tells you otherwise. I always wonder what they did before they had running water?
