give her the pacifer. i wasn't hesitant at first but my dr. said it was ok. so now my baby is a happy baby and she takes it sometimes and sometimes she won't. she actually decides it-not me. she can take it or leave it sometimes. she seems to know when she needs it. i don't press it.

If you are trying to avoid pacifier use for the first month or so, because you are b___stfeeding, I can understand. What I did for my son was help him hold his balled-up fist to his mouth to suck on it. It is better than the paci because he had to open his mouth more so it avoided nipple preferences.

While I was trying to b___stfeed, the lactation consultant told me not to let my daughter use my b___st as a pacifier, because it would cause nipple soreness. She suggested I give her a pacifier, because some infants just need to suck a lot.
