My (almost) 14 week old baby will never take a nap. She's is away all day. She sleeps pretty well at night. I have tried everything. She fights sleep so bad and gets really fussy b/c shes so tired. Is anyone else's baby like this? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Ah yes, fighting sleep is what Lucas does best! When he is not fussing about something!LOL! He is 16 weeks and naps are difficult, but he does not sleep real well at night either, so I get no peace!. I don't really have any advice just wanted you to know I feel your pain. I don't know how you get your daughter to sleep, but mine will not go to sleep unless I bounce him, in my arms. He weighs almost 17lbs, so its a little painful these days. I let him take cat naps in his swing because if I put him in bed he would wake up. Also, when he does go down in his crib I do have to put him on his belly or he wakes right back up. I know people freak about the sids thing and I am not telling you or anyone else to put their baby on their belly, but it does work for my son and he will occasionally sleep 1-3 hours that way. Good luck!

Thanks, It's good to know that I'm not alone!! There maybe nothing I could do-I guess, I just needed to vent. If Natalee would go to sleep on her belly I would do it too, but all she does is get frustrated and smooshes her face.lol I actually just put her in the Snugli and she fell asleep. She won't nap any other way-I forgot to mention that. I have a new mommy scatter brain.

Oh, I know, my mommy brain is still in full force. I'm lucky if I remember to tie my shoes. Lucas would only sleep while being held for about the first 10 weeks of life! I'm still pretty sleep deprived and my house is a mess! I hope it gets better-for both of us!

Well girls it does get better but the fighting sleep is always there my girl is 8 months now and she's so busy that she hates to have a nap afraid she'll miss something lol.

You need rest too, right? Have you tried napping with her? When I need to get Blake to nap and he is fighting it I play some soft music that he enjoys and place him in his swing reclined.

I just can't sleep in the day, I've tried. I figured that I must not not tired enough! She only spelt maybe 30 min in the snugli. Just wish for her like a 2 hr nap to be able to have " a little" time to myself. That would be wonderful. I have one of those husbands who doesn't understand. He comes home from a 10hr hard day at work. So I am soooo tired by the end of the day!! He helps me on the weekend though.

Well,,, I was about to post the same thing and I found this thread... my dd thinks she will miss out something and tries to fight sleep. she yawns and rubs her eyes , but no matter what she wont go to sleep. It is some times a two hr ordeal if I try to put her to sleep. well, I havent posted 2 posts, and now she got up... if she finally naps, it will be for just 20-30 mins,,,, byeeeeee
