Nadya will be 4 weeks tomorrow and over the last couple of days, she's started to smile at me! She now has periods of time during the day (and sometimes at night) when she just wants us to talk to her and make silly faces. She's so cute! Her favorite time is in the bath, when I splash her legs in the water and sing to her. Her whole face lights up and she makes cooing noises. Things are getting much easier now that I can distract her when she's crying. She's so gorgeous! I love her to bits!

Hey Lissi! Enjoy the moment.... it goes by fast. There will be many other firsts and all very exciting but I think the first toothless smile tops them all. Things are better now right?

It is exciting! She changes a little bit each day now. Yes, it is getting easier. Nadya is getting easier to settle, and I'm getting to know her likes and dislikes. I dare say there will be a lot more sleepless nights, and unexplained crying, but I'm coping much better now too, now that my hormones seem to be calming down. :)

My next door neighbors are going through hell now. I can hear their baby crying (2 weeks old), and they look like they just came back from a war. We try to help by saying it's temporary but when you're in the middle of it, things look bad!

Isn't it awful! I think once you start to accept that sometimes they cry and there's nothing you can do to help except cuddle them, it gets easier to deal with. Before I felt like a complete failure as a mother if I couldn't stop her crying straight away. Now I just deal with it. It's great when they start to actually interact with you and you start to reap rewards for all that hard work. Just a week ago I was starting to wonder why on earth I wanted children, but now I'm really enjoying having her around, even when she keeps me awake til 5am. I'm now seriously considering trying for another in a year's time! :) What about you and Lisa? Will there be a little brother or sister for Anna?

Lissi we're talking about it. Maybe TTC after the holidays? We'll certainly try again soon. Lisa is not as scared of the whole process anymore where before she was scared of labor the most. I think you said you will too! Speaking of parenting I read Madonna spoke out against "trash television". I guess it her having kids totally changed her!
