when is spit up just spit up and when is it a milk or medical problem, my little girl spit up br___t milk, then I swapped to formula Good start regular, and she seemed to spit up then I tried Good start soy and she spit up, then they let my try Nutramegien and she don't seem to like the taste of it and don't feed much from it so it's hard to tell but this is my first day using it, and she also get's choked, especially on her back and sometimes it's just mucus or spit like, I don't understand, I don't too much believe in the laying the baby on the back because it's hard for them to get whatever it is out on they back, believe me I know my little girl lost her br___t surverly the other day trying to throw up after and hour of feeding. She has terrible gas and is hard to belch. any suggestions?

How early and how much cereal should you give an infant? I tried a teaspoon in the formula she's 5 and a half weeks to see if she was allergic for 4 days and I haven't seen a rash or any thing could I make the formula a little thicker at that age?

you should talk to your doctor about giving an infant cereal so young. it is not usually recommended so early. she seems to be having problems with liquids in general, i'm not sure if adding cereal is the smartest thing to do. please call your doctor.

for my first son the ped. did suggest putting cereal in his bottles and it did help he did not spit up anymore. For my second son he had a minor case of reflux and the ped. also advise to put cereal in his bottles. It helped him as well. not all babies are the same. Cereal did help mine. But I would ask you ped. first before trying any cereal.

It's almost always considered spit up. Babies rarely throw up unless they are ill, and there are usually other signs (fever, irritability...). You are supposed to give a new formula 2 weeks to see improvement. Have you done that? No wonder she is spitting up so much. She is constantly being switched. I would stick with one formula for a while to see how she does.

My son was throwing up after every feeding when he was about 2 weeks old and he started to lose weight and he wasnt having any dirty diapers. I took him to the ER the day he stopped having dirty diapers and he ended up having Pyloric Stenosis. It is where a muscle in the stomach is too thick and wont allow the baby to digest food, so they throw it up. I mean he was having projectile vomitting, it was very scary. He had to have surgery to fix the problem. It was about an hour long surgery, but now he is great. I looked information up on the internet and thought he probably had pyloric stenosis, but his doctor didnt think so and had him try a few different types of formula. But when he stopped going to the bathroom I got scared and took him to the ER, good thing I did that. There is a lot of information online for Pyloric Stenosis, I hope this helps.
