Just a heads up for you ladies. I'm currently br___tfeeding my 3rd child and was completely unaware that the over the counter medicines that were okay to take during pregnancy are NOT necessarily okay to take while br___tfeeding. Found out the hard way after taking some Pseudophedrine for a sinus infection. I took just one dose and it really screwed up my milk supply for about 2 days and on top of that, it kept my son awake and restless. Called the Pharmacist today and was told that basiclly the only thing I could take for this infection is Tylenol. Geez this stinks!! Just wanted to inform those of you who weren't aware. :o)

Thank you! That is good to know. I guess it is a different situation when you have to keep up yoru milk supply!

Thanks Tiff. I've been too scared to take anything at all for my ailments, and I'm suffering. Still trying to b___stfeed, but it never really gets any easier. Going to give up when Nadya reaches 4 months, so I can take lots of drugs and go on a crash diet! 1 more month to go, yey! Hope you feel better soon. :)

Thanks for the info. I was taking baby aspirin for my clotting d/o and it made Ben's clotting time super slow (he got cut with the nail clippers at Thanksgiving.) I quit taking it b/c I got a little freaked by that. Lissi- I am planning to go to 6 months. I have been counting down the days b/c I can't say I am in love with bf. It is darn hard to do and has only gotten a little easier over time. I can't wait to have a couple of drinks and some spicy Indian or Mexican food- lol!

Oh yeah, I miss the drinking! Christmas is going to be hard to get through this year, with eveyone waving their gla__ses of wine etc, under my nose. My husband does it deliberately, to tease me! I've been saying I'm going to give up b___stfeeding, every day, for the past 6 weeks. My guilt always gets the better of me though, and I end up feeding her myself. I wouldn't be suprised if I'm still feeding at 6 months, but I'm so fed up with it!

Yeah when I was b___stfeeding I was told that tylenol was going to have to be my best friend. I have arthritis so imagine the pain that I had to bear. I have just stopped b___stfeeding last wk.

Just a note: When Lissi said thanks Tiff, I kept thinking I didn't say anything yet. I'm such an idiot.

Lol! TC, when I see your name, my brain keeps singing, "Top Cat! The indisputable Top Cat! Who's intellectual close friends get to call him TC............" It's doing it right now! :) It's 7:18 nam here, and I've been working all night. Nadya will be up for a feed soon, I wonder if there's any point in going to bed?

Forgot to login again! Doh!

LOL!! Maybe not. Nothing sucks more than going to sleep and having the baby wake you up 10 minutes later. That is pain on every level.

Just wanted to share my own story about pseudoephedrin...it has a street name of "skittles"...if you take enough of it, you get high. A couple years ago, my husband was investigated by the army because 8 girls failed a drug test with pseudoephedrine in their systems, and they all named him as supplier. He was cleared, cause they were obviously b.s.ing for whatever reason since you can get it over the counter...Anyway, point is, be careful when taking pseudoephedrin at all - I'm amazed you took it during pregnancy. But, then again, until this incident with my DH, I had no idea it could be misused that way, either.

Christy - December 12

Jamie- I took it when I was pregnant and sick with a terrible cold. It was on the safe list my OBs' office gave me. It didn't help my cold, though, so I stopped taking it.

I can't give that medicine to my daughter. When she was 3 she took it and it made her go crazy just out of control like I'd never seen and never want to see again. A few years ago I took Tylenol cold and sinus and it made my heart race. Scared the c___p out of me. All I ever take now is Advil or plain Tylonel. I think Kellymom.com has a list of meds safe for nursing moms to take.

I'm staying in this christmas! John doesn't drink so I don't need to worry about him winding me up haha! Last christmas was the only christmas I've drunk, except for a gla__s of wine at dinner time. Even the last few new years I've not been able to drink, and it's not bothered me. As long as I'm in the house with just us then I'm ok. I was out in September with a big group and everyone was drinking, except me. And it didn't even bother me in the slightest! One la__s said that I will be the only one that will wake up and feel fine, only she was soooooo wrong! You would of thought I had tons the night before lol! I was still poorly :-( I don't even think I am missing having a drink. Somedays I get down and stressed and wish I could go out for a couple of hours and let my hair down, but I know if I did go out I would be phoning home all the time checking up!
