I just heard something interesting and very poignant from a well known tv psychologist. I thought of you and I hope this helps in any way. -- The reason we spin into anger is not bc of what the other person is doing, but it's bc of what we expect of them. The first step into changing your behavior is to change your expectations of your baby. When modeling behaviors like yelling and swearing, it can spiral out of control and make the situation worse for the baby, as they pick up on the mother's cues. The Dr. states that we cannot expect babies to stop behaving like babies just bc we are on a certain schedule that does not fit in with theirs. -- Peace:)

My husband does not like the good Dr., but I think the guy makes good points. Liz- Yeah, I didn't think you were anything like that woman. I think Narcissus hit the nail on the head with the "take home message" though. I know I have gotten upset with Ben because I wanted to go to sleep, or something else, and he was in a crying fit or wanted to be fed again right after a feeding or pick your everyday baby behavior. Poor little baby- he doesn't know what I want, just what he needs. I feel badly for that family. I hope that mom jeeps getting help for her problems.

I think another reason why we yell is because we are very frustrated, and that's fair enough. When anger and frustration builds up it needs an outlet. Instead of feeling guilty about your needs, as well as your need to vent, take it out on something else - an inanimate object maybe. Yell at the sofa, or punch a pillow, or go out for a run when you can. I've also had major guilt and anger issues, and found this to be very helpful.
