We just brought our new baby home today. The nurse checked our car seat and the way we installed it and everything looked fine. Well, we got home and realized the leather backseat is angled somewhat, and her head fell forward and she just had to keep it there. Is there something we can do to the seat to adjust the height, etc, or would a different car seat help? I know it's not good for her neck to ride like that.

We had the same problem. Not sure what State you are in but in CA, I took my car seat to the Highway Patrol Office and they had someone reinstall the seat with a foam cushion underneath the base so the seat would tilt back further. We also bought the strap covers because it seemed to make the straps stiffer along her neck and supported her if she leaned on them.

We had our carseat inspected by the local fire station. He said that you can put up to 3 cut noodles (the ones you take swimming). What you do is cut them the width of the carseat and put them in a pyramid position where your backseat meets the part you sit on. Then strap in the carseat on top of the noodles. You might not need to use all three noodles. I would start with one and work your way up until it is at the angle it should be. Some carseats have a level mark on the side that show when the carseat is level to the ground.

We just use a rolled up towel to get the seat level.

Thanks everyone for your help, we called the police station and they told us of a few remedies. We ended up at Babies R Us, they have the pre-measured noodle thing to put underneath the carseat for only $9.99. (In case you ever know anyone else with this problem)
