i am not the person to ask - so why am i responding? cuz i just made up my mind after seeing what circ_mcision really does to the baby. you can see pics online. it's so hard to imagine letting them do that to my boy.... yeah, it hurts them A LOT. and it hurts when they pee, etc. good thing for those boys that are that they never remember it.

Hi! Congratulations!!!! I have a boy too,he is 5 1/2 months old all BOY. We did get him circ_msized,it was done in the hospital 2 days after he was born,I had a c-section I was in there longer! My son had what was called "ring" it's something new. We didn't have to do anything,Just a little vaseline. When it is comletly healed the ring will fall off on it's own. No it does not hurt them too pee as far as I know. Good Luck

from what i've read, the pain is similar to having your fingernail cut off your finger with a razor blade. and the anesthetic doesn't really help all that much. i think it takes like 8-10 days for all pain to stop, and my momma's heart just can't bear to see my baby suffer. so we're not doing it. besides, i guess the aap doesn't even push it anymore, saying it's really not medically necessary.

Steven's MoM... that is so cool... tell me more about this ring thing...it sounds good.. the thing is that my BF is circ_msized and i've never been with a guy that wasn't...and his dad (my BF) wants him to get circ_msized and i think so too... i love my little boy and don't want to cause him pain.. but that ring thing sounds good.

Just wondering for the moms who arn't circ_mcising. is you hubby/boyfriend? Im sure they would have more insite on the situtation. what ever your choice is Barbara dont let someone else change your mind go with your gut, and Congrats! How far along are you. I miss being pregnant! And its only been 15 weeks! Enjoy every minute and make sure to take belly photos every couple of weeks Its amazing how your body goes threw changes. Remember a pregnant body is the most beautiful, no matter if your feeling crummy one day. The Pictures later on will amaze you.

I am not a fan of circ_mcision, but I must say that I don't see how we can compare the pain to anything as we don't go through it. It gets done a lot here in the states and they all seem to get through it fine. That being said, I would recommend you really reading up on the net or library and talk to your doctor about the issue. It's a choice every parent has to make themselves and I won't persuade you with my opinions, but read up a LOT so you are truely informed enough to make a good decision fo ryourself. Go to the American Academy of Pediatrics and look under the topics on the right. Good lucK! http://www.aap.org/topics.html (no dashes if they show up)

yeah, you're right, we can't really relate to that kind of pain. but the foreskin is fused to the p___s so you can only imagine the pain ripping it off, then cutting it. from what i hear, there are tons of nerve endings in the foreskin so it certainly isn't painless.

to ~ or whatever, those pics really were not that graphic. The baby really does not feel any if much pain and it is better to have them circ_msized for sanitary reasons. I do not have a p___s so I talked this over with my husband and doctor. Both feel it is absolutley the right thing FOR US to do, not everyone but for us. My husband would not want our son to feel embarra__sed or different about his p___s if he werent circ_msized and the risk for infections is greatly reduced. Just felt this should be considered in addition to your comments.

Hi- I had my lil one circ_msized. They did it a day after he was born while I was still in the hospital. He didn't even cry for more than a minute. The pediatrician there said to use Neopsporian (sp?) or Bacitracian (sp?) ointment when I changed his diaper. It didn't bother my lil guy at all and it was completly healed after a week. It doesn't hurt them to pee afterwards. As for what it looks like, well, I've never seen an uncirc. one, so I can't help ya there! It's a personal decision, one of those debates that will always rage. Congratulations and Good luck to you and your lil guy!!!!!

I had my two boys done by a jewish dr. He froze the p___s and proceded to circimise the baby. My baby cried at first cause of the freezing. He was given tylenol I think 1 hr before the appointment. I used 4 x 4 square guases and put some polysporin oitment - infection cream on. each piece of square this went on his p___s after every diaper change. I made sure each piece of square had enough cream on to cover the top part of the circ_mised p___s. We had no problems My son only had one extra dose of ttlenol after the procedure that day. It healed within a week. I had to bring my boy to the dr after two weeks of being born. I asked about the healing process and he said it had healed nicely. My boy did not have any problems with pain from his peeing in his diaper. If his p___s does get infected you will know when I doubt ask your dr. Good luck with whatever you decide.
