I just started my 2 wk of the mini pill errin. I am 5wks postpartum and br___tfeeding. Since about thurs I started spotting. Now it is like a period. Has any of you that are taking this type pill had a period especially br___tfeeding. I have not resumed s_x yet so I know there is not a chance of pregnancy. I just do not want to take this pill if I will bleed often. What other choices of birthcontrol is there while br___tfeeding other than condoms. I do not have latex allergy but they irritate me. I do not want to chance withdrawal because I am definately not ready to have another one. I want to enjoy the one I have now. THANKS

I started on ortho-tricyclen at 7 weeks pp...I immediately had a "normal" period; had a second one at the end of that 28 day pack, and am now on a 3rd, at the end of another 28 days. So, I think it's safe to say that I, at least, have resumed a very normal cycle. But, that's a different pill than you're on. Oh yeah, I'm also b___stfeeding.

I was put on ortho-tricyclen because it typically reduces your milk supply, and I had enough milk to feed a small army. My b___sts were of a size that I was going to start having back problems; so my lactation consultant and my doctor decided to give me ortho-tricyclen, hoping that a diminished supply would reduce my b___sts enough to prevent back problems. Fortunately, it worked, and I still have more than enough to nurse my daughter.

Gotcha That does make sense. I do not have a over supply. I have just enough and I definatly dont need a pill to reduce the supply. I hope maybe the bleeding will stop. I need to call in am and see. I would hate to keep bleeding off and on and never know when it will hit me. When I got preg it had been 3 mths since I had a period so I almost for got what it was like to blled. It was really nice HAHA

LOL - I know! I got pregnant following a year of irregular periods...and I was more than a little upset when I got mine back at only 7 weeks pp, cause I thought that b___stfeeding meant no period for a year or so! But, I think it's actually fairly normal to have a period while on the pill - something about the added hormones. If I were you, I'd wait a week before calling dr. and see if the bleeding doesn't stop on it's own - if it's a normal period, it shouldn't last more than 7 days

I am on the mini pill as well. I spotted a couple days later, but it wasn't much and I haven't had any since. I have been on it for 2 weeks now, so it was only a few days.
