Breastfeeding Vs Bottlefeeding

I also wanted to say if you do decide to b___stfeed remember for most it doesn't just come naturally. It takes time for the baby to learn how to suck the milk out. It is harder for them to get food from a b___st then a bottle. The bottle just drips out, with the b___st they have to work much harder some babies are fustrated by this. I had trouble getting my son to latch on right which made feeding hurt. Once I knew how everything was fine.

I've done both b___st and bottle. I never found that b___stfeeding took longer than bottlefeeding. Just the opposite, my one daycare baby takes up to 30 minutes to drink a bottle. My nursling, on the other hand, takes maybe all of 10 minutes to fill up. Then she's on her way.

There is no "better". It's the mom's choice. I just had my daughter 19/04/05 and couldn't BF due to serious issues with anemia and jaundice. When I did try to pump and give her my milk, she was very ga__sy and took it very badly. I changed what I ate, and she continued being very ill. She's now on Enfamil and she's very content. :)

Yes, there is a "better." All doctors agree that if you can and your baby can take it, b___stfeeding is best. No argument at all. Its scientific fact.

BOTTLE FEEDING

my son never latched on so I pumped and gave him formula before he went to sleep. He slept through the whole night after 2 months. I didnt feel guilty because I knew he was getting b___st milk even though it came from a bottle. I am pregnant again I hope this baby latches on .... seems easier and less expensive.

formula feeding poses serious risks for newborns. obviously there are some cases where one must formula feed, but in general formula should be considered a last resort. formula fed babies have a higher incidence of many diseases including obesity and allergies. b___stfeeding protects mom against b___stcancer and gives baby the benefit of perfect nutrition and mom's immunities. and you can always pump so you can have time away! trust me, at 3am lifting up your shirt is waaaay easier than getting up, mixing and warming formula, filling the bottle and getting the baby. if your b___stfed baby will not take a bottle she can be cup or finger fed when you are gone. most b___stfed babies take a bottle no problem.

I AGREE WITH SEPT - June 5

and all the others who BOTTLEFED. Some of us don't have a choice and bottle fed babies are just as perfect and healthy!!

Breastfeeding is what I'll be doing however it really depends on the mother and child

oh please people. we all know that some people cannot b___stfeed. that is what formula is for! it is NOT a subst_tution for b___stmilk! it is a last resort when b___stmilk is not available!!! there are no if ands or buts about - it is the scientific, honest to goodness truth. formula is substandard to b___stmilk and should only be used if absolutely necessary. alot of people think it should only be available by prescription.

I use both methods. I do not eat the best that I can/should, so my baby is likely healthier from the supplemental formula that I give to him. He gets 2-3 bottles per day, and I b___stfeed the rest of the time. Also, he was a very hungry child from day 1, and I have never made enough milk to satisfy his needs. I have tried pumping but have not been able to produce enough milk to make it worthwhile.

even if all you do is drink soda and smoke cigarrettes, your milk is still healthier than formula (this is scientifically proven). the more often you give a bottle, the lower your supply will get. im not trying to flame you- i think its great you are b___stfeeding! i just wanted to share this info.

hbmw - Please direct me to the primary scource for that statement. If all you do is smoke and drink soda, your milk supply is NOT healthier than formula (two scientists in this home...). Also, if you take certain medications, your milk supply would be less healthy than formula. People should be careful before they categorize without qualifying their statements. I am also not trying to flame you:) I simply know that a healthy milk suppply comes from a healthy diet. This does not mean that one should eat a perfectly balanced diet, but if all you do is smoke and drink, let's be real. I do not get enough of the essential fatty acids, which are crucial for a baby's brain development. The formula I use, in addition to b___stfeeding, ensures that he is getting what he needs.
