okay well my son is almost 9 months old (will be on the 25th) and i JUST recently put him in his own crib....he shares a room with me so i have been keeping the crib bumper on his crib...because if he wakes up in the middle of the night and sees me...he'll cry/scream until i get him....all because he wants to nurse off me or just sleep in my bed...but im just re-doing the room and i was just wondering if i should keep the bumper on...just because so he'll sleep good and wont freak out if he sees me.....or should i just take it off.....? please respond!!! thanks....(sorry if it doesnt make sense)

They say no to crib bumpers they have even said that they want to take them off the market I had bumpers on my daughters crib but recently took them off shes 4 months old and she moves around so much so the risk of her sleeping with her face pushed in them is greater Don't you have a room of his own for him?

With a young baby, the crib bumper can be a suffocation risk. With an older baby, they can climb the bumper and fall out of the crib more easily. Maybe you could put a screen between your bed and the crib. I saw one at Target that had tons of pockets, it would be great for baby stuff too. I kept my daughter's crib in my bedroom until she was almost a year old. We didn't have any problems with the transition to her sleeping in her own room.
