Hi ladies,
I just started taking my little lady to daycare this week and I counted the diapers and she only changed her once from 7:00am to 1:30pm I know people can get forgetful, but it's really starting to bother me, becasue when I picked her up she always says, I just changed a very poopy diaper, so that means she waits until right before I pick her up and my baby sits in yuk all morning. She's a very content baby and really won't let you know, so that was her other comment the other day I picked her up, should I say something or give her a few more chances, it's the first week and it's only part-time.

I would say something, like ya know at home we change her diaper every hour (even if you dont) and I would really appreciate if you did the same, even if its not dirty or wet. The daycares around here change the diapers every hour unless you tell them to do otherwise. You will go through a few more diapers but at least she wont be sitting wet all day. You could also just pack the diaper bag in the morning with exactly how many you want her to use and then if you have any left over at the end of the day ask her why.

I think they need to hange more often you are paying for the service. I agree with the asbove posts name.

You could ask her if she used the daycare's diapers to change her, since only 1 was gone from your diaper bag...kind've a non-confrontational way to confront the issue.

I am not sure what state you are in but in Texas there are regulations (as I am sure there are in all the other states). You can look up online to see the regulations. I am pretty sure by law they are supposed to change the diaper at least every two hours. Six and 1/2 hours is WAY too long to go between changes. I would say something. Communication is always key. She won't know your expecting anything else unless you speak up. Good Luck!!

It's funny, Leahp, I have the other problem! At my son's daycare they go through way too many! I would definitely say something, who cares how you look or feel you might look. It's your little girl, and her best interest is key! Possibly sitting in a soiled diaper all day must not be very fun. Just be open and honest and see what the lady says. The truth you'll get from asking might not be as bad as the things you can imagine if you don't say anything. Good luck :).

Our daycare changes diapers every hour (they provide the diapers, too : ), and keeps a chart of each change (yep, what was in there), what she ate, etc. You could ask for some sort of record to make sure she is having the correct numbers of wet/poopy diapers. Nip it in the bud now, though. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to address it.

Changing them every hour. That would be a very frustrating job. You would feel like there is no interaction with the kids, just a constant production line. Thats over the top I think. Leah speak up and ask how often your baby is being changed... You are paying good money.

well i work at a daycare so i can speak on this. DEFINATELY say something, there are some employees that just don't know what the hell they're doing, and it needs to be brought to the advisors attention. At our daycare we change every two hours, and ally is right every hour is WAY too much, there would always be a line, no real kid interaction. I hope something gets done, cuz I'm sure its not only your child she's neglecting!

Hey ladies, thanks for all the advice, but I went yesterday and she said that my baby had two really good poops and I got home and check the bag and she had changed her three times within six hours, which is better to me, plus I hung around for a half an hour and my baby just loves how the kids talk to her, it was a better day, but I will for sure be keeping an eye on the diaper situation.
