No you aren't horrible! Silly mommies, we really worry about everything, don't we?! ;) My husband is dead set on our son looking like him, and then if we ever have a daughter he wants her to look just like me. It looks like our boy might get my brown eyes instead of Daddy's blue ones, though! We'll see!

You aren't horrible! I thought for sure my dd would have her Daddy's dark brown eyes and black hair but so far at 3 months her eyes are very blue. Mine are sorta gray/blue.

Before my son was born i always used to ask my husband, how would u like our baby to look like me or u? would u love it if it will be a girl or a boy? he always used to answer me "i don't care whom he or she looks like i don't care if it will be a girl or boy all i care about is that i want my baby to healthy thats all i wish for..and now when i look at my son i see a miracle of God..he is so beautiful he looks exactly just like his father he got that Italian glamour just like his father..but some times me too wish that he looked in atleast some thing like me coz i'm jealous of his father..he got deer like eyes just like his father with long eyelashes...it's normal for every women to wish like that..all we have to glade about is that our babies are healthy thats all what matters to me now.

I don't know if brown eyes are dominant either. I've got brown eyes, my husband's got blue eyes, and 2 of our 3 kids are blue-eyed. In fact, one has even lighter eyes than him! I think one also needs to consider phenotype (hidden gene) and not just genotype (visible gene). His family is all blue-eyed, and I have just as many blue and green eyes in my family as brown, even though one wouldn't think that to look at me.

Brown eyes are definately dominate. You can do a lot of research abot htis on the net. You do have to consider both sets of genes. If one parent is blue/blue and the other is brown/blue, you haev a much much larger chance of having a blue eyed child.

I have crazy curly frizzie hair. I'm praying my son dosen't get it.

My boyfriend & I both have really nice brown eyes. But my boyfriend's mom wishes for our son to have blue eyes like my boyfriend's dad. (She also wished for a granddaughter when we both wanted a son, and couldn't keep her opinions to herself during our happiness.) I'll be disappointed if he happens to get the blue eyes, especially since they're not all that pretty of a blue. They're kind of plain. Thank goodness for us that blue is a recessive gene. lol Anyway, I don't think this makes us bad parents. It's not bad to want your child to look like you or the father, whichever you were hoping for. I think it's actually sweet.

lol. i was hoping for one of my kids to get their fathers blue eyes too. but both have brown eyes. lol with nice blond hair LOL. iam hoping that this last and third baby will get his gorgeous blue eyes

I had hoped my son would have my husband's brown eyes. He's got beutiful blue eyes like his mom.

how funny! - December 5

no, you're not horrible!!! my daughter has her grandfather's incredible, awesome, beautiful sky-blue eyes. they are so so blue....some of our pictures just b__w me away to see how blue those eyes are! anyway, my disappointed is that i wanted her to have her dad's dark brown hair. instead, it's my dirty blonde color. my only hope is that it will darken - her dad's hair was light too, till he was about five, then it got darker and darker. i've got my fingers crossed! silly, i know....

Read dont want husband or baby anymore. Now that's a HORRIBLE MOM...

Jamie - December 5

I did read it, and, no, that is NOT a horrible mom - that is a mom who has depression! And here I was just about to post a comment about no trolls in this thread...

CEM what's this genotype/ phenotype stuff? Anyway I think you have them flipped. Phenotype has nothing to do with how they became whatever color they are.

To: Scratching Head - December 5

Phenotypes and genotypes both help predict what color the eyes are. You can do some research on the subject yourself about phenotypes on the net.

hmmmm - December 6

I do not think that you are a bad person for wanting that. HOwever i think i am a bad person because, my husband ahs a daughter from when he was a teen and she looks just like him, so now i am scared that if my newborn son does not look just like him, the family will not love him as much so now i am so scared he will favor me. i have brown eyes and my husband has green hazel with gold in them. and he has olive skinn this is what i want cameron to look like, but i a sure he will have brown eyes and light skin jsut like his mommy. I guess i am a bad mom to be scared my son will not look like his daddy
