How long did it take for you guys to lose the weight? I gained 50+ pounds and have lost about half of it since having baby 3 weeks ago. I am also br___tfeeding. The scale has not budged in about a week and a half, though and I am scared that I'm stuck! I would go out for a walk with Ben in the stroller, but it has been too cold and snowing here. I can't take him out of the house to the mall for walking yet either, per his doctor's advice. I just want to be able to wear my regular clothes again. :(

Were in the same boat. I gained 45 lbs and I have lost 1/2. The scale is stuck at 162. none of my jeans will b___ton. I have a gym membership but I had a c-section and the doc said no gym till he ok's it at my 6 week appt. It's cold here in Chicago also with the acception of today. I will for sure be going for a walk. My husband and I are going to try to start eating healthy Mon. (we have all these leftovers) . It's gotta come off right?

I gained 50+ with my first too and I hate to say it I never really lost it all. I eventually just bought new clothes and got over it. This time I was down to my prepregnancy weight within three weeks, but now it is creeping back. I don't work out and have not been eating good so I know it is my fault. I need to start walking but I live in a new neighborhood with construction workers everywhere. I just don't feel comfortable by myself. By the time my husband gets home it's dark and cold. Excuses, excuses huh!

Well, I gained 55 pounds and I'm 7 months PP. I just got over that I'll never get back to my original weight and just recently started to buy new clothes. I still have my tummy, but everywhere else I lost the weight. I walked all the time and I think that helped alot.

I gained 54 pounds during my pregnancy. I never excersize, but I am b___stfeeding. I have 4 pounds left to lose and still have a bit of a belly. Blake is almost 6 months old. I know that the b___stfeeding is definately helping me lose the weight because like I said I don't excersize. I think that by the time he weans I will weigh less than prepregnancy.

I lost 2 stone (Sorry I can't worjk in punds unless we talking about babies weight) within 2 weeks of havin my 3rd son. He is 3 weeks tomorrow and I can now fit into my regular clothes. I was so pleased. I got into my jreans last Wednesday and I could of cried! I was so happy. I've not done nothing to help lose weight either. But I think with 3 children to look after I don't get a chance to rest. I'm always on my feet and running about.

I gained 75 pounds...I've lost about 35, since having my baby in August. I'm not too worried, since the scale does seem to go down a pound or two every other week or so - I figure, it took me 9 months to gain it, why do I think I can lose it overnight? I also b___stfeed, and do light cardio every day. I still can't truly "work out" my tummy muscles, as they still hurt from my c-section. Hopefully in the spring/summer I'll be able to find a pool, and start swimming the weight off.

i gained about 55, and 5 weeks pp i still have about 32 to lose until i get back to my original weight. i'm afraid my stomach might not ever resemble normal again too. it's gross, this flap of skin that hangs over my pants. yuck! losing half in only 3 weeks is pretty good though!

It takes time. With my first I gained over 50 lbs. and it took 8 months and I was actually smaller than ever! I was wearing a complete size smaller than when I was in high school. This time I didn't gain as much about 40 and have lost about 22 lbs. and am 6 wks pp I hope I can lose the rest this time as well. I learned that when you don't put so much pressure on yourself you lose it quicker.

I gained 64 pounds! I lost 50 pounds in 3.5 months and then plateaued for about 2 months even though I didn't change my eating or exercise habits. I was also very frustrated. I do have a fitness backround and know this is normal. My daughter is 6.5 months now and I have three pounds left!!!. Stick to it, what you're going through is normal and healthy. The key is- Don't put your body through anything thing that you can't stick to, or you will set yourself up for disappointment. Good Luck- Your doing great!!!!

Thanks, girls. Sounds like I need to be patient. It has only been three weeks, but I know a few people who bounced back into their regular clothes within a month. I don't see that occuring with me, but I guess that is okay. I am eating fairly sensibly, and do a bit of housework when I can. I think once I can get out, I will be doing better. I also wonder how much age has to do with it, as I am 31. I wonder if I had him in my 20's, I'd be losing the wieght faster. Anyone know anything about this?

Hi Christy- Well, I don't know about age having anything to do with it b/c some of my friends who had babies in high school never lost the extra 30-60 lbs they gained. But I just had my son and I'm in my early 20's- and I was in my jeans within two weeks. Of course my tummy is a bit flabby, but I am actually a lb less than when I got pregnant. I think it's metabolism that determines how hard you have to work to get it off. Good luck everybody!

I'm 23, Christy, and am losing weight slowly. My SIL had her first daughter when she was 17, and still hasn't lost the weight, 6 years later.

I had my baby 10 weeks ago, and I swear I'm getting fatter! It's so depressing. I'm b___st feeding too. I can't take Nadya out, because she seems to have a permanent cold, and the weather in England is damp and dismal. I keep looking at my old clothes, but for now, all I can do is dream that they will fit me again one day. :(

It took you 9 months to put it on, give it twice that long to come off. If you are b___stfeeding then you nee that extra weight. Buy some new clothes to tide you over. Don't fret you will get back to your old weight---don't rush it. After 5 years I'm actually a size smaller than I was. I get lots of exercise at the playground. No time or money spent on a club membership.

I switched to a vegetarian diet and lost all my weight in 3 months. I decided to try it after I had tried everything else. A friend of a friend that I met said that it was the only thing that worked for her. Well It worked for me too, and now she is a very good friend of mine. She has really helped me make the transition. I am so happy and I don't miss meat at all. Here is a good place to get some recipes if you want to try it. http://www.vegsource.com/talk/recipes/index.html
I just can't express how much happier I am now that I'm not carring around that extra 35 pounds!
