Going Completely Insane

I had terrible problems with Nadya in the first few weeks. I used to feel really distressed, when my husband would say goodnight and leave me on my own with a crying baby, because I knew it would be a long night, and I never knew what to do with her. She would eventually fall asleep in ky arms, but as soon as her head hit that matress, she would start crying. I tried sleeping with her on my chest, but I kept feeling her slipping from my arms. In the end, the turning point for us was to not only swaddle her, but stick a dummy (pacifier) in her mouth, and hold it there, til she went off to sleep. I always said I would never use a dummy, but it was the only thing that stopped me from throwing my baby out of the window in those days! She probably has gas, and sucking can give her some comfort. My daughter is mearly 3 months now, and usually sleeps from 12 to 7 am in the morning, unless her routine gets disrupted by a cold. Just hang in there. I know it's tough, but it will get better. :)

Oh yeah! Another thing that works for Nadya is giving her a bath and a feed before bed.

I'd say trying the bath before bedtime. Feed her after the bath and see if that konks her out. I guess I got lucky. Emma's been going to sleep very well at 8 wks. I just have to turn on her aqua deal next to her and she watched it and falls asleep in a few minutes. Otherwise before that she'd fall asleep while b___stfeeding her and I'd put her in her crib and she wouldn't wake up afterwards. I guess after reading all these posts I should consider myself a very lucky mommy!

I guess so! She never cries. Only if she's hungry or needs a changing. She had gas issues for a little while and would cry until it pa__sed but it only lasted 20 minutes or so and then I stopped drinking milk and she's been fine ever since. Some days she naps most of the days and other days she just likes to sit around in her bouncy seat or swing and watch the world go by. When I take her out shopping she's out cold the entire time we're gone as long as she was fed before we left! I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with her! Ha ha!

Nothing wrong with her, she's just a laid back kind of baby. :) You're so lucky!
