How Did All The Babies Sleep Last Night

I think the fustrating part about my baby night time sleeping habits is that its never consistant. The night before last he slept 7 1/2 hours straight I was so excited I thought it was the beginning of a new phase. But noooo last night he only slept 4 1/2 hours it changes all the time. I am tired of wondering what every night will be like. Ughh!!!!

Same problem with Nadya! She had 2 nights this week where she slept for 6 hours, woke up for a feed and went straight back to sleep for another 2 hours, then just when I'm thinking "Great! She sleeps at night, I feel so much better, I might actually do some housework today!", she changes! Last night and the night before, she decided she wasn't going to sleep until about 5 am. I'm shattered! Another problem, is she can't decide how much she wants to eat. I b___st feed, but express a bottle every night, so that my husband can feed her. The trouble is I never know how much to express. Last night she actually needed 5 ounces, but sometimes I'll express that much and she'll only drink 2 or 3 ounces and the rest gets wasted. Every day, she's like a different baby! She's 3 weeks. How old is your baby?

Lissi your baby is still so young my baby is already 10 weeks and though it has gotten better I wish it he was sleeping all the way through the night.

Anna slept well last night, went to bed at 10 and woke up briefly at 4:30. 10 minutes of nursing knocked her out till 8 am.... the night before though she did that 4-3-2 hour thing. The week old baby next door was up all night from what I gathered....

hi monica. my son fell asleep at 8:30pm, slept until 1:30am, got up to eat and came into bed with me. he then slept until about 6:00am, whereupon he got up to stare at the lights on the stereo! they're very bright in the dark mornings we've been having. i'm curious about that chair you bought for your son. how is the back support on it? jack is 13 weeks now but still has a fat squishy back that nees a lot of support.

CEM - October 7

needs....not nees!

Hadley slept from 9:00PM to 6:00AM, drank a bottle and went back to sleep until 9:30AM. It took forever to get to this stage but she did it. It started around 3.5-4 months and has gotten better. :)

cem, caleb can support his head very well and has really strong shoulders. The back support is pretty good but your baby needs to be able to support his or her head a bit. My baby loves too much attention and I sit him down next to me when I am doing dishes and he is all happy or when I am eating he just stares and stares at me.... maybe he thinks I am the most beautiful woman he has ever seen ha ha ......

yeah, it can get frustrating my daughter is almost 3 months old now and she is asleep by 9:30-10:00pm and wakes up for her feeding between 4-5am so she is definetely sleeping better. There for a while she was waking up at 3am and staying awake til 8am and it was terrible. I am so glad she nearly sleeping through the night. It will get better! >','<

I am so jealous! My 4 week old hates sleep. She will sleep for two hours if I am lucky then be awake for two hours. Last night I just cried because I was so tired and frustrated. Please tell me it gets better. When I do get her to sleep the minute I lay her down she wakes up.

Rachael mommy2lucas - October 11

Oh Eryn, my 8 week old does the same thing! but now he actually smiles when he wakes up the moment I lay him down. He knows exactly what he is doing, the little turkey. While he still will not nap during the day without being held, he will sleep a 4 hour stretch at night and this just started a few weeks ago. It does get better but there were many nights where I cried too. He would sleep all day if he is being held. He just will not stay asleep long ever,. I cannot get anything done. Hopefully it gets better for both of us.

Lissi - October 11

Worst night EVER! :( She wouldn't sleep between 1am and 7am! Cried the whole time too. I tried everything, but I just couldn't make her happy. She slept really well all day though! Little devil!

Lissi to Eryn - October 11

I'm in the same boat. Nadya is 3 weeks and driving me crazy. I cried last night too.

Eryn - October 11

At least we all can understand what eachother is going through. I hate it when the night time comes. Its so stressfull.

monica to eryn - October 11

I understand, my baby gets fussy at night and wants to be put to sleep. He still wakes up once in the middle of the night to eat. I cant wait till the day when he just sleeps all the way through. believe me it slowly gets better. Soon you will have a toddler and other issues :)
