I always worrried about the same thing. I figured that babies need to be coveredand kept warm. With my first son I never put undershirts on him or onies. My second I did. You just have to figure out my tril and error. Trying to find out if your baby is cold or warm blooded is the key. Don't worry you would figure it out after the baby is born. Trust your instincts ythe most. Both my boys ere born in the month of July.

i don't know where you are, but in canada we're told to dress your newborn baby how you're dressed PLUS one layer. now that goes for at least for the first couple of months, unless you're experiencing a really warm summer and then it's dress them how you would want to be dressed. i'm living in denmark now, and here they say to feel the temperature of the baby's neck. if it feels nice, not too hot or too cold then they're probably fine. i myself have 3 boys and my best advice to you is not to overdress! i feel so sorry for babies who are obviously too warm, with a heat rash and the whole nine yards! the poor things can't say they're too hot, i think it's cruel.....a parent would never think to let their kids out in sub-zero temperature without any clothes on, but they seem to have no problem overdressing them in really warm weather - it's the same thing! so be careful, and best of luck :o)

It's something you kind of just figure out. Sometimes my son would cry because he would be to hot or cold. My Mother in law always bundles my baby up and he screams because I usually he gets too hot.

Babies will sweat when they get too warm. Also, when they're too cold their feet will look purplish. You can always dress your baby in something that seems right for the temperature and then bring a blanket or two in case she's too cold.
