Do any of you beautiful ladies know of a legitiamate work from home company? It is not worth it to work after day care and gas costs but we are struggling!

Ebay. Start by selling misc stuff from home and build a reputation. At some point, you need a product. If you live in a big city, or have a pottery barn, williams sonoma, or pottery barn kids near you, you can make quite a bit of money. People will pay more than an item originally cost if it is available only in stores, and not online or thru catalog. I used to profit $2k a month b4 I was pregnant. I could list a set of hand towels that cost me $22 and people paid me, no joke, $80. I sold 6 sets in one week. That was just the tip of the iceberg.

Another trick, if you come across a hard to find item, call all the stores in the country (store list online) and have those items shipped to your house b4 someone else gets them. I did that with a crystal garland that was originally $29 but was on sale for $6.99 per package. I ordered 200 of them from around the country and sold each garland for $30. This was during their after x-mas sale, when everything is marked down.

R U Serious???? Wow! I could handle that! Ha ha! I was considering getting into that also but wasn't sure what I could sell. My fiance wants to buy a welder and I want him to make those cute little animal lawn ornaments out of used car parts and stuff like that cus they're so neat looking and sell for $$$ in the stores right now and he said they're so simple to make and cost nothing. That's an idea.

Yeah, people were insane with what they would pay. Some were just lazy and others wanted to use eBay bc it was an obsession for them. Pottery Barn will have a theme every season and some of the items belonging to that theme are only in stores, or only in catalog. When their reindeer collection first came out, you could get the bowls in stores but not online. People payed over $200 for 4 cereal bowls when they cost only $45 in the stores. They wanted to complete their collection but did not know they could call any store and have it shipped to them. The list goes on and on...

I have had very little luck w/ ebay....But I know you can make $$$ if you have the time.

Narcissus - December 7

Yeah, you need to troll the stores several times per week. It can be tiring. I started on the weekends for extra cash and it took off from there. I sell only a few items now and then, if I happen to see something. Heidi, have you looked on eBay to see what those ornaments are selling for? It might be a $$$ maker. Even an extra $200/month is helpful. For some, that is a car payment.

Narc maybe my problem is that I only have 8 positive feed backs....I just started too. I have only made around $100 but owe e bay maybe $20. I dont know whats wrong with my stuff...for example I was trying to sell for .99 a fleece brand new with tags disney two piece outfit...but no one is interested. I think I just dont have the stuff that people are looking for.

Narcissus - December 7

monica, that's not always true. Sometimes you need to relist the item and give it another go. Childrens clothing is flooded so unless you have some high end, designer baby item, most people don't make more than a few bucks. I think an $80 profit is a good start. Make sure not to leave feedback for a buyer until they have done so first. Some buyer will neg you without giving you the chance to correct the problem. If you have not left them fb, they are more careful with words.

monica, if you don't mind listing your username, I can look at your past auctions and give some tips. Aja is sound asleep so now is a good time.

monica - December 7

can you do that without a pa__sword? can I email it to you?

Ashley - December 7

Narcissus, I've been interested in doing that for a long time but don't even know where to begin. If you don't mind, can you give me some more pointers.

Narcissus - December 7

You can do it without a pa__sword by using their "search completed items" link. Sure, email me at: aja_matias@yahoo.com - It's my email set up for this forum. Spam away spammers:) Ashley, Aja is awake so I can't do it right now. I will think of some more stuff and write it down. Where did Dina go?

Narcissus - December 7

He's asleep again... Paypal is the universal payment system for eBay. Never NEVER accept Paypal payments from buyers that do not have a confirmed address with Paypal. You can set your paypal account up to refuse payments from unconfirmed addresses. You must specify this in your auction. Look at other people's auctions for tips or email me and I will send you my text. You must ship the package to the physical address a__sociated with the card they have on file with Paypal. Also, every package must have a tracking number. I learned the hard way thru a credit card chargeback. I had no tracking number and the address was uncomfirmed. Paypal favored on their behalf, even though I shipped the skirt to them. Liars. I was so peeved. People who know the system buy items from people who do not follow Paypal's rules and take advantage of chargebacks.

Try doing transcription. It's not very easy work but you're able to do it all from home. Send a resume to Esriptionist.com. And they'll send you a email with a few questions just answer yes to all and then they'll send you 2 test files to see if you'll be able to do the work. If you find it something you'll be able to do then go buy the software required. Tigerfish.com is also a transcription business and their test files are right on their web site. I'm only in the testing process but will answer any questions i can. I have done a lot of research on this type of work and it is extremely legitimate. Best of luck....

Heidi - December 7

I do transcription on the side and was offered to do it full time from home for like $15 an hour but at the rate I type it's more like $18.00 but I have to pay my own taxes and all that jazz. I'm really in limbo with what to do. I really want to stay home with Emma but I'm scared to take the big leap. I've been at my job for 7 years and it pays good but would be about the same if I quit. But I lose my benies but we'd just go on my hubby's cus he works at the same place. I just hate the idea of someone else raising my kid while I'm at work and she's the only kid we're going to have as he got fixed already so I feel like I deserve to enjoy watching her grow cus I might regret it some day. I just don't know what to do!
