I haven't started Christmas shopping yet either...mine isn't in the budget until next week...but I put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving.

Our tree is up, our gifts are purchased and wrapped...the only bad thing for us, this Christmas, is the fact that we have to spend it so far from our families. :( But, that's what the internet is for, right?

Thank goodness, Jbear! Thats pretty much the reason why I haven't started yet, too! I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one leaving it until the last minute! (Like I do every year!) Maybe next year I'll start shopping in the summer... Jamie! You are done?!!!! Everything?!!! I wont have any family around this year either. They dont live as far as your family, but they are far enough that we wont get to see any of them. I haven't spent Christmas with my Mom in about 7 years! Even though I've got my own family, I still wish to spend Christmas with my extended family some time. The good old times, when parents got drunk, and the kids ate christmas baking until they were sick.....

Yep, everything's done. I started in September. There are 3 gifts that I'm waiting for the postman to bring - those need to be wrapped, but that's it. Even the gifts for the family back home have been taken to the post office and sent out. And, it's good to be reminded I'm not the only one who doesn't get to see extended family on the holidays. Helps to remind me of the blessings I have...there are several soldiers from my husband's unit who are being deployed in the next two weeks...that would be horrible, for him to have to leave right before Christmas.

Having a 5 year old who is so excited, a 6 week old who never sleeps, and Clark Griswald for a husband, I feel like getting in my car and not coming back until Jan 1st. We have to trudge through the tree farms looking for that "perfect tree", that has to be 12 feet tall. I haven't done any shopping yet and I have 3 kids to buy for. "Clark" has decorated the outside which is so bright the street light doesn't come on outisde our house. I have boxes for the inside decorarions all over. My little one keeps asking me when we can decorate the inside. I don't even have time to pee, let alone decorate. BAH HUMBUG!!!

I couldn't imagine spending Christmas without my Dh! Or being deployed, leaving my family to spend Christmas without me? Thats sad, especially at Christmas time. Guess its time to be thankful for what we've got, eh? Look at me... into the Christmas spirit again! Thats only because the cursed tree is finally up! I tell ya, this afternoon I was just about to start celebrating Hannuka, and say to Hell with the Christmas tree!

Yay for the Christmas spirit! My daughter's jumparoo came yesterday...it has been SO tempting to put it together and let her play in it...she loves her exersaucer so much, I can't wait to see what she does with the jumparoo! But, I'm being good...it's from Santa, and he doesn't come for another 19 days. LOL

Tammy, that is too funny about the lights...lol; my husband is of the opinion that if you can't land a plane by the tree, it's not bright enough.

19 days! Now that I've heard the countdown, I can start getting stressed! Actually, I know what I'm getting everyone but I'm getting so stingy that I wish that I could just tell them all that we're too broke this year. Last year I spent a lot on gifts for the relatives and my parents gave me a $20 silver ring, my youngest sister gave me a $5 necklace, and my other sister gave me a bunch of underpants that she'd bought for herself and then decided were too small. They were too small for me too...I don't do b___t floss. Anyhow, we ate ramen noodles all through last december to give everyone nice things, and didn't get much in return. I'm tempted to buy the kids' christmas presents, and then replace my washing machine instead of buying anything for the relatives. Of course, if I do that, this will turn out to be the year they give me something decent. I know I should enjoy giving the gifts, and not calculate what I get in return...but I'm married to the Grinch and I think his habits have worn off on me.

LOL...b___t floss...LMAO...I spent more this year than ever before..the only way we were able to do it is, I spaced it out over 6 paychecks. But, I managed to spend $20 each on my parents, his parents, my 3 brothers, his brother, my neice and nephew, and his nephew - and then I spent about $500 on him, and...I only spent about $200 on the baby; I don't know how much he's spent on me, but I'd guess around $500 if he got me what I want. (a new stand mixer and a new set of kitchen knives) Like I said, though, I was only able to do it by spacing the spending from September through now.

I did buy my sister a present today, at goodwill...it's a really nice Ralph Lauren denim skirt that I only paid $3 for...it is also a size 20 and my sister wears a 26...she always does it to me. I'll probably chicken out.

Do it, do it, do it! And, if she comments, tell her it's motivation!!! LOL Aw, look at me, trying to start a fight in someone else's family. How do you think she would react?

I have so many children to buy for. Thats where most of our money is going! My brothers and I are chipping in on a housecoat Mom wants from La Senza. And my brothers, I dont know what to buy them! I already got a new sofa and recliners from Dh, and a new washer and dryer last month, so I'm not expecting anything else from him. Dh is getting a nice size bonus this year from work, so when that comes, I get to shop 'til I drop! He wants to get his Mom a digital camera for christmas! I told him no, and now he's cranky. I was thinking of something a lot cheaper! I know what you mean Jbear, about giving and receiving. Last year we bought stuff for lots of people and their kids, and didn't even so much as get a card from a couple of them! I know its the thought that counts, and Christmas is all about giving... blah, blah, blah... But why is it when we think of getting something for others, they just dont seem to be thinking at all? Anyways, Hailey and Gabriel will be treated extra special this year, just dont know what to buy them yet! Hailey wants Bratz dolls etc. I am not sure if they are age appropriate for her though! Jbear, your daughter isn't much younger than Hailey, would you get her Bratz dolls? BTW... "b___t floss"!!!! Very funny! Lol!
