Hi Melissa. Was you upset the first time you had to give your baby a haircut? I know Nathan needs his trimmed but I can't make myself get it done. I love all his hair.

Kathryn, Hi. You know, if my baby hadn't of had his first (and second and third) haircut his hair would be completely past his little shoulders right now and all in his face. It was hard at first, but it was also kind of fun. I mean how many babies do you know actually need multiple haircuts before they are one? He is due for another one pretty soon! I love his hair and I know that eventhough I have to cut it off, it will just grow back again!

I actually had a waitress at Pizza Hut last night tell me that she wanted to hold Nathan and prceeded to take him out of his car seat carrier! I drew the line there most definate and left. I'm not sure why he draws so much attention but it is really starting to bother me. I'm just an average person and don't like getting attention. Thanks for letting me vent.

Babies love to be touched and need to be touched. There is no risk of your baby getting sick providing people have clean hands. Have some purell or hand sanitizer handy for yourself and others to use prior to touching your son. Stimulating all of your babies senses will a__sist in the development of you son.

you cant get sick directly from germy hair, but hair is a great place place for germs to live and can have easy access to a childs mouth, nose, etc. why do you think employees in operating rooms wear caps to cover their hair?

I know babies like to be touched. I just don't want compleate strangers putting their hands around my son's face (hands, feet ect.). My husband and I are quite capable of stimulating my son's sences. His little head is finally getting big enough to fit a hat. That is going to be the next thing I try. (I still havn't cut it yet).

Hubby finally said last night that he thinks Nathan needs a haircut!!! His mother told him that we had to wait until he was a year old. If we did that it would be long past his shoulders. I really didn't want a divorce over cutting Nathan's hair without telling him. I will update his web page.

My son has long curly blonde hair and he is adorable. I can go anywhere without all the attention. I don't mind the ohs and aws but when a complete stranger touches him I walk away. I had an older drunk lady in the pharmacy come up to me and put her nasty finger in my sons hand. I gave the pharmacy clerk a look of "help" and she quickly thought of a question to ask her to distract her and I walk away until she was gone and said thank you the clerk.I had to make sure the whole time I was in there that he did not put his hand in his mouth and then I sanitized it when I got to the car. I too had to cut his hair early. Its okay and not as hard as you might think. Some people are so inconsiderate.

Thanks Alisha. I'm glad someone else knows what I am going though. I would think my baby is beutiful no matter what but, he really is a pretty baby and gets a lot of attention. I'm such a quiet and shy person and he just draws people to him.

Oh my God, Jbear - you are kidding me??!! Strangers try to pray over your baby? lol... I have a lot to learn. I'm pregnant with my first and this is eye opening. I never thought people would do something like that. It's bad enough having people want to touch my belly. LOL!

lol.. this is a funny thread. I agree with all of you that you should not worry too much about hurt feelings. Sometimes at church I tell people I'm sick so I don't have to shake hands (there's this part of the service where everyone is supposed to "greet their neighbor" and you're expected to shake everyone's hands). It's especially lovely during flu season. I read somewhere that hand touching is the number one way germs are transmitted!

I cut Nathan's hair (actually just trimmed it around his face). I've been calling him Moe because he looks like Moe from the Three Stooges. I took him to O'Charley's tonight for a Grand Opening and they sat us next to the kitchen. Every waiter, waitress, manager, ect. had to stop and feel his head. He is becoming a little celebrity in my small town. I really didn't flip out about everyone touching him. I guess i'm getting used to it.
