hi rachael how is lucas doing? is he getting better with the reflux and colic? you know caleb has been so fussy lately. he usually sleeps from 7 to 7 but last night he woke up at 10 (ok i fed him but he usually doesnt wake up) then woke up at 11 then 4 then 6. I am so tired....glad I didnt have to work today. lately he has been crying every night at 6 I am not sure why I thought colic should of been gone by now.

Hi monica! I thought the colic should be gone too. Lucas was doing so good for a few weeks, but then the last 4 or 5 days, he is back to getting up to eat twice a night again, crying off and on all night as well. Not taking naps like he had started to do, and being fussy all the time again too! I was thinking the reflux is getting better, but his zantac needs to be adjusted, I think. I have to call the doc's office. I just do not know what is going on all of a sudden. I think his gums really hurt now too. Maybe that has something to do with it. That is strange that Caleb is doing that too. Sorry to hear that. Lucas is wearing me out! When do you have to go back to work?

monica - November 28

I go back next Monday. I think our babies are sensetive. I remember with my first he never complained about anything. Caleb is napping right now probably since he didnt sleep well last night. Who takes care of Lucas while you are at work?

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 28

Lucas is definitely sensitive, but sometimes I call it dramatic. LOL!! My mom watches him, my grandma, and my cousin, on Saturdays my mother in law or hubby. I am off on Sundays and Thursdays. I love my day off during the week to get stuff done and hang out with the baby. Well, I usually dont' get too much done! Lucas will not allow it!

monica - November 28

lol yes caleb is so dramatic.. but my husband seems to think the whole family is. Caleb has his 4 months appointment tomorrow and shots. I wonder how many shots they get this time? Caleb has been sleeping for 30 minutes already I wish he slept for another 30 so he will be in a better mood. I think he is teething but he also has again a runny nose. But I think they both go together...at least that is what I have been told.

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 28

I think they get as many shots as the first time. Lucas has his appt for 4 mos on Dec 22nd. I hope he is not crabby from his shots on Christmas still. Lucas has been coughing a little. I think it is the dry heat in the house. It has been mighty cold here in Ohio. I hope his appointment goes well tomorrow. I can't wait to see how much my little chunkeroo has gained. I got his pics taken with Santa yesterday-so cute! I am going to get him a website soon. As soon as I find time to go to my mom's and use her computer to set it up!

monica - November 28

yup caleb has been coughing too. i was planning on taking both caleb and his brother to take santa pictures today but caleb didnt sleep well and his nose is bothering him. So I will probably have to wait until wednesday or thursday. I hope he is not a bad mood either and smiles for the picture. Was lucas afraid of santa? i cant wait to see lucas when you make him his website. So you live in ohio...what is the temperature over there? We think its torture here when its 50 degrees.

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 28

I hope he feels better soon so he can get his pictures! Lucas was not afraid of Santa, I was so proud. He doesn't seem to be afraid of anyone yet. It has been snowing and in the 20's, 30's here the last week or two. Today will be in the 60's but that is a fluke we get from time to time. My friend lives in Ca, she recently moved back there from living here for 5 yrs and thought it was funny that her family thought it was chilly in the 60's and she was wearing shorts! 50's is pretty warm this time of year for us. What is it like there now. What part of Ca do you live in?

monica - November 28

i live in northern california near san francisco. its been in the 50s and 60s and we are suffering. Caleb on the other hand belongs in Ohio....he hates hot weather and sweats more than the average baby. I want him to be all bundled up and cozy with me but he starts to sweat. I dont know much about Ohio...is it the state of the potatoe?

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 28

I think that's Idaho! Our motto here is if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes, it can be crazy. I live in a suburb of Cleveland. I have always lived here so I don't know any different. I have always wanted to see Ca. My friend lives in the La area and is getting married next year, would love to go, but it will depend on money. I hear it is beautiful. Lucas sweats all the time too if I try to bundle him. I have to be careful how warm I make him at night because he is such a hot head!

monica - November 28

same with caleb but I am so cold I cant even sleep thinking he is not warm enough. But like they say better for them to be a little cold than over heated. Oh ya duh Idaho....california is beautiful it has its bad parts too but the weather is great. If we want snow we just have to drive 3-4 hours....I have lived here all my life. Have not gone to too many other states...just new york, nevada, florida, texas. You know I was going to name Caleb Luke.. and we also liked the name lucas but the reason we didnt name him luke was because of the whole star wars thing...so I got turned off. BTW he is still sleeping its been 1 hour and 10 minutes....

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 28

That is sooo funny! I liked Lucas as a name and we were having a hard time agreeing on a name for a boy. My hubby is a huge star wars fan, what a dork, but that is actually one of the reasons we went with it. I guess we figured we could torture him his whole life with "luke, I am your father"! He probably won't appreciate it later. We also wanted a name that went with John as a middle name after my husband's dad, so Lucas John it was. He even had a onesie with darth vader on the front that said "who's your daddy, and Star Wars printed across the b___t. My sister found it. It was quite funny. Wow, an hour and 10 min, that is very cool. When I called my mom at 11:30 she said Lucas had been sleeping since 10:30. He is probably catching up on his sleep to keep me up tonight! You would think my hubby would be a little more mature at 35, but obviously I'm not either at 28 if I went along with the whole star wars thing. But I will call him Lucas as long as I can, or he lets me.

monica - November 28

lol oh my goodness that onsie sounds great....I am 34 and my husband is 36 but him and my 5 year old love star wars. BTW caleb woke up... but he slept for an hour and 15 minutes...my mom is going to watch him today for about an hour while I go to target and buy more lights and decorations for our christmas tree. I wanted to put it up early this year for Caleb....now that you are working how many hours do you get to spend with lucas a day.. I am stressing out because it seems that I will only be able to spend 2 hours a day with him...:(

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 28

We got our outside lights up yesterday, we will do the tree next weekend. I cannot wait for Lucas to see the lights! I work full time, 40 hours and it can be so stressful. It is hard to get stuff done and I miss him a lot. But sometimes it is a nice break LOL! I get up at 5:30 am and he usually does too. I leave or drop him off around 7:15 am. I live about 30 miles from work so rush hour kinda sucks. I work from 8:30 to 5:15. I get home by 6:00 and he goes to bed between 8:30 and 9:30. My hubby gets home around 4pm though so he keeps him til I get home. Some days it feels like I don't get to spend any time with him. But I have to work, I'm hoping to pay off bills enough to go part time within the next few years. I cried for about a week when I went back to work, but at least he is with family. Will you be working full time. That was a good nap for him! Hope he is feeling a little better now.

monica - November 28

yes full time and my work is around 30-45 minutes away. I start work at 7:30 and will be dropping him off at 6:45 every morning. I would love to work part time and hopefully I can in the future...for now my husband is kind of self employed and I am the one with the medical insurance.

Rachael mommy2lucas - November 28

My husband started a new job a few months ago, and while it is slightly better money than his last one, it has terrible medical. My job has great medical so I have everyone on mine as well. I would have put the baby on mine regardless. I think it is not so hard to leave them when they are with family. I do not think I could handle sending him to daycare. Does your older son go to school yet?

monica - November 28

yes my first son is in school....school cost so much but he is happy there. There is no such thing as public preschool in california....Caleb fell asleep again.
