I am 35 weeks and 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated. How effaced are you? I have been pretty much on bedrest lately but I also do have mild pre-eclampsia. You make sure you rest being only 30 weeks.

I was 30 weeks when dilated at a one. Now, I am 1 day shy of 33 weeks and I am almost 3 cent. I asked my doc how effaced I am and he said that I am just starting to efface but that it doesn't make much difference in a second pregnancy. Is this your first pregnancy or no? My daughter is almost 20 months old. Bed rest sucks! Did they say anything to you about induction since you have the pre-eclampsia?

This is my first. Didn't say much yet about induction but I a__sume they will be really keeping an eye on me since I will be visiting them twice a week.

They did an internal exam on you at 30 weeks? Why? I a__sumed they didn't bother with that until 38 weeks or more.

They did an internal on me at 35 weeks. I think that is pretty normal.

They did an internal on me b/c I went into actual labor with heavy contractions. I am now taking oral terbutaline to stop the labor. This is also my second pregnancy.

Hmm...maybe they checked me because of the pre-eclampsia and what not...

I think some docs just do internal based on symtoms also. With my first preg. my doc checked me at 35 weeks b/c of menstral cramping and loss of mucous plug. Sure enough, I was dilated at a one and 50% effaced. I have heard some women getting checked in the "twenties" if they are risk of pre-term labor and such. I think it might just depend on the doc too.
