if i'm 36 weeks 5 days, 4 cm dilated 80% effaced -1 station with my 4 child and live one hour away rom the hospital , may i resquest an induction at 37 weeks?

i was induced at 37weeks, i had to be induced my waters broke. but i also know a women who had a booked herself in for a c section at 38wks just coz she didnt want to go on with pregnancy anymore. depends on where you live, and doctors and policys.

Beleive it or not: there is quite a differance for the baby between 37 and 38 weeks!

The definition of a late preterm infant is 34 weeks till 37 + 6days. Take care!

I'm 37 weeks and my regular OB wanted to induce me late next week because of complications I've been having. However, the hospitals in our area will not allow you to be induced until after the 39 weeks and you have to practically be dying from complications ... otherwise, you can be 1-2 weeks past due and they will not allow you to be induced.

i'm in the same boat im 36w and i live an hour from the hospital and i asked them early on if i could get induced and they told me no not unless i have any complications which i havent had any but they did tell me that they could strip my membranes to help me go into labor faster
