hi last night i was at the hospital with painful contrations, before the contrations i was 1 cm 50 % effaced - 2 station with the contrations i'm now 4 cm dilated 80% effaced -1 station, and only 36 weeks and 5 days, i'm very uncomfortable because my contration stop and they send me home, and at this point they don't want to help me dilate a litte more! what can i do? and how long before the hard labor pain hit? i'm totaly miserable.

hey magali, i've been at at least 4cm dilated, 70% effaced, -2 station for the last 2 weeks with my first baby. 2 weeks ago, they were worried i was in preterm labor and sent me to the hospital but they ended up sending me home. i'm 37 weeks now and have been on standby to have this baby any day now since then. i get contractions, cramping, back and pelvis pains but no change since last week. still at 5cm, 70% effaced, -2 station (i went for my 37 week check up yesterday). i lost my mucous plug about a week and a half ago. i think i got my bloody show this morning but not sure if it's just because of the internal exam i got yesterday. doc just said it will happen when it happens. they think they got my date wrong and i'm a week ahead of my EDD so if the baby comes, i'll be full term. i've been trying to walk a lot, go up and down stairs and bounce on my exercise ball. good luck to you!

the more you walk the better it will be. walking will help you dialate more. my sister walked everyday the whole 9 months with her 2 kids the 1st one was born in 15 minutes she only had like 3 or 4 contractions. the 2nd was born in about 3 hours but she had a pretty easy labor with both. good luck.
