4cm And Effaced Labor Soon

I'm 36 weeks pregnant, 5 days ago we were in the hospital because I had contractions that were only 5 minutes apart and getting stronger. After 6 hours I was at 4 cm dilated and 1.25 cm in length but contractions stopped. I've had off and on low-back pain and contractions- maybe lost mucous plug. Does all this mean labor will start soon?
