Hello Ladies...I need some advice. I am 24 weeks pregnant. I am due in October. I live in a smaller community of approx 5000 people. I basically need to decide where I am going to deliver. My dr here said he could deliver my baby, but IF any complications were to arise , they would have to take me to the closest larger center which is an hour and a half away. They basically deliver naturally here too. So...I guess I'm wandering if I should deliver in the larger center. I'm just scared if i go into labor and don't make it there in time. However, even my dr said that his wife was pregnant and its the 21st century. he didn't want her to go through so much pain so took her to the larger center so she could at least have an epidermal.

Only you know what's right for you. If you're having a normal, healthy pregnancy, chances are your labor will be fine - and despite the horror stories, natural labor is definately do-able, and you may even treasure the fact that you had one. That said. Only you know you. Only you know your fears, etc. Even healthy pregnancies can encounter problems during delivery, and you definately want to have the option to have emergencies addressed. Good luck in your decision.
