Am I Beginning Labor Advice Please

Hi...I am due today with my first child. I woke up yesterday morning with contractions. They were painful, felt like really bad menstrual cramps and spread from back to abdomen. I was timing them for awhile but they were irregular so I stopped. I had a dr.'s appt. at 10am and he checked me and said my cervix was thin and soft but no dilation. Well, the contractions continued all day, into the night and I still have them now. They still are irregular but painful. I have not lost my mucous plug yet or had any bloody show. I guess my question is...Is this the start of labor??? I dont know what to expect. Any advice is appreciated.

Call your doctor and GO TO THE HOSPITAL!! You may not be dialated now, but you might dialate very fast and all at once. That happened to me. 6 cm's in 15 minutes at the end of my labor. Better to get there too early possibly than too late.

I believe it is the start of labor. Get a friend, go somewhere air conditioned (mall) AND WALK.
