Hi im nearly 39 weeks and am experiencing some slight leaking. When i go to the loo in the night when ive had a wee wiped and stood up i get another little trickle down my leg and my panty liner has been a bit damp with no obvious discharge - is there any check to see if this is my waters breaking does amniotic fluid smell or look different? ive had no regular contractions just cramp like pains and backache. Any advice?

Amniotic fluid is usually colorless and oderless - but you should definatly see your dr. because they can do a quick test to find out if it is your water or not. Once your water has broken (or is leaking) there is a higher risk if infection - so you need to find out what's up as soon as possible!

when i wasn't sure i called the hospital and they said to come in. when u come in they wipe down there with a little strip ofthis little paper looking thing that tests it to see if it's amniotic fluid. go asap!
