With my first two labor was intense, quick in terms of what most women experience, without any sort of drugs and included the WORST back labor ever. I am due in 2.5 weeks and am wondering if there is anything I can do to help with or avoid ths terrible back labor I have experienced in the past.

The best thing is to try to turn your baby from a posterior position (where he is face up eyes looking toward the front of your crotch) to an anterior position (where he is facing toward your b___t). Google "Dromedary droop exercise" - that's the one docs & midwives recommend for turning your baby. Do it 3-4 times a day, it involved going on your hands & knees and moving your hips back & forth. Severe back labor occurs when your baby is posterior- currently I'm 37weeks6 days preggo with my 2nd child (a boy) & he is posterior & I'm trying to get him to turn too.

It's also said to avoid the "reclining" position you would a__sume while sitting in a Lazy Boy. That position allegedly encourages the baby to remain in the posterior position. I feel your pain very much! I had 14 hrs of horrendus back labor with my daughter without pain relief. Then I was forced to lie on my back to deliver her. Pushing hurt 50x worse than the contractions did....even tho pushing is said to feel like a relief. The whole experience was so awful...including the way I got treated in general...I am scared outta my wits about this one coming in October. Good luck.
