Are anyone's BH contractions getting a little painful? I'm 35 weeks and I get these few second cramps that I believe are BH contractions and they are slightly painful. They take me by surprise and feel like squeezing or stretching. I'm starting to get VERY nervous because people are telling me that real contractions are 50 times worse than that!

Braxton Hicks contractions can be painful, don't let anyone fool you when they say they should be painless. sometimes real contractions are worse and sometimes not. I think if you have painful braxton hicks, it prepares you for labor and what the pain will be like. I have been having painful BH contractions for the last few weeks and the are progessively getting worse........but they are doing some work because I am also 35 weeks and my doctor checked me on Tuesday and I was already 3cm and 50% effaced....so sometimes pain is good!!

Hello Tammy, I wanted to know what it is your doing that the BH would dilate you. I went to my Dr. twice now and my cervix is soft and that is it. I went in today and no changes. I'm in so much pain that I don't want to get out bed. walking is so painful I just want this to be over.

Does anyone else get braxton hicks on one side in particular? It seems like this one spot on the side where i know my baby is resting is where i get them and they are really strong? Do you think that it could be a sign that the baby is uncomfortable or in trouble?

missycc4, I'm personally not doing anything to make myself dilate....my body is just doing it on its own. Normally, I sit around the house and do nothing...I am so lazy and tired right now. I dilated early when I was preggo with my son as well.....some woman start to dilate early and others don't.. I was going to ask my doctor about it at my last appointment but I forgot.
