Hi there everyone! The question most people seem to be asking is how to induce labour. I was wondering if there was any way of speeding up the rupturing of the membranes as i know as soon as your waters break if no baby is out within 24 hours the hospital induces labour for you. Obviously i dont want to harm my baby in any way but my midwife has told me she's ready to come out. I know that sperm can help with this but I also heard evening primose capsules inserted into the cervix was a way. Has anyone else heard this or of any other suggestions.
I know that she'll come out when she's ready but like everyone else i have hope that i might be able to spurr her on a little and have her in my arms sooner rather than later, plus it makes you feel like you're doing something rather than sitting around moaning all the time :o)

I have wondered the same thing---yeah, I too have heard the standard "ripening the cervix" ie. primrose capsules, s____n etc. The other thing I heard was to do squats with your legs wide apart (deep knee bends some call them). I find these ridiculous to do right now--I can't get up. You might want to try though. (;

I'm fine thanks smileful, i tend to be pretty accident prone so i'm used to it :o) I think my poor wee sausage dog got more of a fright than me cause i landed on top of her tee hee! I'm sending you "baby get out vibes"!! I found out yesterday i have some kind of infection down there (yuk) so it's probably for the best mine hasnt come yet. Don't want her getting poorly on the way out. I've heard that walking on uneven ground or one foot on kerb and one on pavement is meant to help move the baby down, and squats. Instead of sitting on a chair if you're watching tv or reading try sitting in a squat position for as long as comfortable and gravity and the wideness of your pelvis is meant to encourage the little one down. I hope you have her in your arms by then end of the day! FINGERS CROSSED!!

your poor poor weiner pup! The mental image of pregnant lady jumping on bed falling down ontop of dutschhund keeps getting more comical---but no, I AM NOT LAUGHINGAT A PREGNANT LADY--no never. Sorry to hear about the infection? Group B Strep? Quite normal, they just have to take a few precautions to make sure babe doesn't get it. ---My neighbours would point and laugh if they saw a 9month pregnant lady walking on the kerb with one foot on the pavement. I think I'll hang on to my last string of dignity for now. Thanks for the fingers crossed and the vibes..'preciate it. I'm scared of labour now, because she's in the wrong position hence the reason she's not staying down, and hence the reason all the weird start ups and stops again. Grrrrrrr....I forgot when your due date is! Remind me!!

Hi smileful, have they given you any tips on how to possibly try and turn her round? I'm on a major downer today :o( boo hoo squish squish, went for my 39wk appt all excited thinking "oo wonder how i'm progressing" and the short answer is i'm not! Still only 2cm dilated, had a diff m/wife and she seemed to think that the last one made a mistake with how far down baby's head was and thinks its a fair bit higher :o(, after being told i'd started to thin and that my cervix was ripe i was told that yes i have a soft cervix but its still thick. Still not had a proper "show" either and my contractions are pants to say the least. :o(

OMG GIRL WE'RE LIKE 2CM BUDDIES NOW!!!! *shriek shriek--estrogen frenzy* Don't be discouraged! You can go from 2 cm to 4 in noooo time--wether you're thick/thin--or the babe is engaged or not! So I looked at my crystal ball and this is what I see in your future *smokey fog stirs up in crystal ball--cough cough* I see....a daschund with a broken paw---no, that's can't be right---I see you waking up at 3am in a puddle of amniotic fluid soaked mattress!!!!--ha! This better not be tonight!!! We won't be dilation buddies anymore.

Well i didn't wake up in a puddle of anything sadly, just croissant crumbs...i may have gotten a little bit peckish at stupid o'clock in the morning :o) And the sausgae will be having a broken paw if she doesn't stop barking...i'm sure she just loves the sound of her own voice! So how did things go for you at the new dr's? Hopefully you got some good news. I got a bit of bad news today, one of my brothers has been pretty poorly lately and he has to go for some radio active treatment which means as soon as he's had it he's not allowed to be in contact with children for 2 weeks as he'll be pretty much "radio active man". We've asked him to be the baby's godfather so it'll be a huge b__w to him if he cant see the wee one when she's born. I was gonna talk to my midwife about it at my next appt on wed and see if they'll consider maybe inducing me at 41wks so he'll have 4 days in which he'll be able to see her before he goes in. Do you think they'll go for it or do you think i'm asking for something unreasonable?
