I drank some castor oil at 1:00 am and ofcourse I have been pooping, but I am also contracting. They seem to be getting stronger but not painful. I am wondering if anyone else tried that and had the same effect and still went into labor.

Well just make sure you are drinking PLENTY of fluids, it is likely you will have these contractions and when you go in and they hook up your IV they will stop because the only reason your are contracting is because your body is dehydrated and since your uterus is a muscule it contracts to compensate. That is what I was told. Well good luck let me know what happens so I can try it or not, hehe, Thanks!

I am trying a different method that I posted on the forum. I'd rather not spend more time on the toilet than I have already been spendin as I am having diarrhea as a sign of impending labor. Also keep in mind that the castor oil could make the baby poo in you and s/he need to be aspirated to make sure s/he doesn't inhale it. Both my other babies did anyway and are fine, but it does increase the chance of a lung infection early on. And like Alliesmommy said, drink lots of fluids, getting dehydrated won't help either of you.

with both my previous pregnancies I tried castor oil, walking, Black Cohosh tea, walking, pumping, s_x....none of it worked. The only thing that did any good was Evening Primrose oil capsules inserted against the cervix and allowed to desolve and taken by mouth... that did help me to begin to dialate. Good luck!
