heather, it looks like you may be close I am on my second pregnancy the first one was 7 years ago but I had to ask the same thing. Mine started out pretty consistant in time they were like 8 minutes apart. It went across my belly and at first they are not painful, the longer you are in labor the more painful they get. They start out light and get worse as the labor moves forward. I remember they made me do a lot of walking because it helps your labor progress faster. your belly will be tight with every contraction. you may also have contraction pain in your back I didnt with my first but some people are different.

just keep walking it will make it go faster try not to keep sitting and dont lay down for to long of time I was told that slows and sometimes even stops the progress but who knows i just know when you get admitted to the hospital they will make you walk the halls. how far along are you anyway? good luck I hope you do have your baby on friday.

i am 38.3 weeks.2-3cm, and 50% as of last Moday. This is our 1st baby. Thanks for the advice i will stay on my feet tonight and see what happens. How far along are you?

i am 33 weeks and i am dilated to a 2 and 50% effaced. I am glad they stopped mine. I hope your labor goes fast mine did with my first. I was reading a site a minute ago and it says when it is true labor it doesnt matter if you sit down or lay down the contractions will not stop. I hope in your case you are in true labor I went over my due date with my first but i guess that is fine i had an easy labor. Good luck with you hope all goes well

well i dont know if it is true labor but my stomach has been tightening and relaxing for awhile now. but it is painless. It prolly is nothing but im keeping my fingers crossed. I have had lots of sharp pains in my v____a some diarrhea, i threw up yesterday, my back has been KILLING me, so basically i feel like c___p and cant sleep.

I have been wondering about you all day. I hope today is they day you are having your baby. If so congrats and good luck. hope to hear from you if it was labor pains you were having.

I am so tempted to go to the hospital, my stomach keeps tightening but the pain is mostly in my back. It seems like i am contracting every 2 minutes or so but its not that painful. I really dont know what to think i am kinda scared. I think it should be a lot more painful than this but i dont understand why its tightening so much and so often. Do labor contractions have to hurt in the beggining even tho they are coming so regularly.

Heather, those are braxton hicks, Ive been having the same thing, its just painless tightening in your stomach, mine gets soo tight sometimes that I cant breathe. But hopefully your BH bring on the real deal

if heather has the pains in her back also thats likely not just braxten hicks but labour starting or dilation of cervix, labour pains start in the back and work forward to abdomen, bh are just in the front

Don't judge by the amount of pain, sometimes they're not very painful at the start. I didn't have bad ones until hours after my water broke.

I had a show 10 days ago and have been getting really uncomfy bh,im due in 3 days but im fed up. Tried pineapple,s_x etc. Wouldnt mind as much but this is my 3rd and my daughters weight was 9lb 1oz that was 8yrs ago and she ripped through my bowel muscle so i could do with my son arriving early as he,s just putting on weight sitting here. HELP.
