Contractions Or Not How Would You Describe Them

Okay I'm a bit worried Im almost 38 weeks and as of last week I was 2 cm and 25% effaced. This is my 3rd baby and I was induced the other 2 times. The first time because my DD was almost 2 weeks over due and big. The 2nd was at 38 weeks because I was having back labor I guess and had my first one so fast and had GBS they wanted to make sure I was treated. So this time. I don't have GBS, But I'm really worried because with the Pitocin the contraction came on so fast and so strong and its been almost 8 years. I'm scared I wont know when to go to the hospital. If that makes any sense. Last night I was at the store and I was in so much pain in my back and lower abs. My husband kept asking if I was okay and the guy standing in front of us was asking the same thing. But I didn't want to over react and go to the hospital. So I just took it and after coming home for a while it went a way. But it was like happening every few mins. I started to get a little worried. Anyway IT felt like when your running and you get the cramps in your belly. It was in my lower back and down my legs. But I swear i feel stupid because I don't know if they were contractions or just pain from walking around. Your take on this would be wonderful. I just a little afraid of waiting to long to go but also don't want to over react and my Dh run to the hospital every pain I get. Thanks ladies :) ?

I am 38w,3days and have been having the same type of worries as you!! This is baby number 4 for me, went on my own with #1 but she was 8 days late and that was 15 years ago!!! The next two were induced - and this one worries me!!! My kids are 15, 9, 20 months and this one is due the 20th.....so I don't have any idea if this one will come on its own, early, late...I have felt very crampy and have been having contractions on and off for the last 2 - 3 weeks. I lost some of my plug today which I have never done with any of my pregnancies. I called my nurse today and she said if they are REAL contractions they will increase with pain if you get up and do something, so she said to try walking and if they get worse, more than likely it is the real thing - and to wait until the are 5 minutes apart before coming to the hospital. I will probably panic and go to the hospital and look like a retard, but I guess it is better to be safe than sorry and have the baby at home!! I have been a little worried about being in real labor a few times and lo and bejhold, I AM STILL PREGNANT!!!! :) good luck to you!

I am 37 weeks and this is my 3rd pregnancy. i too was induced with both so i never had to think about the contractions. I REALLY want to do this without pit. this time. i have had contractions that lasted for almost 6 hours but they were never a perfect 5,10,20 mins apart they were all different. i did have a few pains that felt like the running cramp that almost brought me to my knees in pain. i have an appointment today so i will ask what ther mean. I would just hope that mother nature will help us out and we will just know, or our water will break and then we won't have to think about anything.

ok i am back from my appointment and i found out the pain is from a yeast infection.

Thanks Ladies. Kmo I know I don't have a yeast Infection. I guess everyone body is different I do wish I knew what that was but now my husband won't let me leave the house with out him. So no walking for me. I am going to ask my doctor on Friday if he will strip my membranes. With any luck that will get things moving at the very least maybe Ill be rea__sured what to expect from the feeling of contractions.
