You don't have to pa__s your mucous plug before labor, lots of women actually pa__s it during labor and at the hospital. Myself, I pa__sed it a few weeks ago and it's gotten me nowhere but other women talk about losing it while pushing, at the hospital, etc. Constant menstrual crampiness is definitely something I would want to get checked out, whether it was false or not! But I've already been sent home for false labor once :( I'd say go though!! You never know what could happen! And also the doctor on call would most likely want to do a pelvic exam and sometimes that can bring on contractions and get things moving!! Good luck and keep us updated!

marchmommy- we are really in the same boat. i am 36 1/2 weeks with GD. at 34 weeks, they told me the baby weighed over 7#!!!! I have been having HORRIBLE pain, so much that it hurts to walk for hte past few weeks. i am 1cm dilated, and 50%efaced, with contractions every day. my cramping and back pain just started a few days ago. my ob said i could feel like this for another 3 weeks, or go tonight. there's no way of knowing. your last 4 weeks will be uncomfortable, that's for sure. but if at anytime you feel that the contractions are getting stronger or closer together without going away after drinking water and lying down-definitely go in!!!! I just got back from talking a 1 mile walk in the snow and 10degree weather-hoping to speed things along. My apt with my ob is tomorrow also-hang in there and let us know how it goes tomorrow!

I'm just curious, but with you ladies who are dealing w/ GD, do your OBs talking baout inducing at some point due to how big your babies are? I know your both still early (36 weeksI think you said), but at what point does the baby's size become an issue regardless of how far along you are?

cayingo - I think the size isnt' the issue so much as to whether or not you will be allowed to have v____al delivery versus c-section.....so I think Utopia asked that before - some doctors will push for c-section if they think your baby is larger than 10 pounds

Losing your mucous plug is not a telltale sign that labor is coming. I lost my mucous plug and didn't go into labor until 2 weeks later. Strong menstrual type cramps are a sign that you could be in early labor, I would go to the hospital or call my OB.

well im 37 weeks now and im dilated 2cm and 70% effaced i think i should go walk around a little maybe it will do something any suggestions?
