Does Amniotic Fluid Stain

When I had my son, my water was broken at the hospital. I'm now paranoid about it breaking at work or home this time. Does it stain furniture or carpet? How about if the baby has already pooped?

yeah, i think it does stain, or at least its really hard to get out, i just got told about this a couple days ago but im forgetful. i know that even once you've washed your sheets or anything it will still smell after, so the hospital told me to put plastic over my bed sheets, and as for the carpet or furniture you might have to get them professional cleaned.. im not really 100% sure, this is my first child im just trying to remember what i was told at my hospital tour, sorry i couldnt help more

With my first my water broke in the middle of the night. It did not stain our sheets, mattress pad, or mattress..thank goodness! That was my experience :)

My water broke twice on it's own at home in bed. Neither time resulted in any stains or smell at all.
