My midwife said it can do, i have been getting alot of lower back ache the past few dayz and the midwife said tat is a gud thing as it is preparing the body but if u get induced it means the body isnt ready so u have to go thru the whole thing at once instead of slowly

Heather, I'm in the same boat as you. If i don't go by Friday, they are inducing me. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. This is my first pregnancy so I don't really know what to expect. Sometimes reading books and articles just don't cut it. I would also appreciate any stories that people can share.

i have been induced with both of my previous pregnancies. With my first one it was a scheduled induction at 41 weeks.Yes everything came on stronger but also came and went alot faster. I went from 3 cms to delivered in 3 hours. with my son they started the drip at 4 cms because my labor was slowing down and he was born 3 hours later also. I don't know if this had anything to do with it, but the last stage of labor was really fast i went from 6 cm to 10 cms in 15 mins. (with both) when my mother had my sister ( no induction drugs) she took 5 hours to go from 9cm to 10 cms. I find it's worth it. i hope they do it again with this one when i get to the hospital.

Usually the contractions are much harder, but not always. It has given me a 'push' in labor, but mine are still long.

Thanks for replying, I am getting nervous. What type of medication did you choose for pain relief? And how far along into it did you need it?

I did natural with my first son and was induced with pitocin with my second. The pit is sooo much harder. I ended up getting an epidural. Some women can handle going natural with being started but I wouldn't recommend it.

I jus came from hospital yesterday after 12 hrs. of pitocin, this is what tthey use in your iv to help u contract. they are stronger and mine was every two min.. im 4 cm dilated and lost my mucus plug during a v____al check in the hospital .. they sent me home wit meds to help stop the painful contractions..she didn't wanna break my water because of high risk for a c-section.. so i see her again 2 morrow and if i dont go into labor than thursday they'll break my water and risk that c-section this is baby number4 and no problems wit last kids..even wit induction if babys not ready he aint comin..good luck

i was too scared to have an epidural with both so i just took the demerol and that was enough for me. ( just takes the sharp edge off and makes it more tolerable) for me
