I am 37 weeks pregnant. Today I was at the doc appointment and she told me that the head of the baby has sink very low down..she said its no problem, and its good when i will deliver the baby that its already down there...
Did some of you experience this? Did your labor come earlier because of this?
thanxs...

my baby was at 0 station at my 38 week checkup... today is my due date and it doesn't look like anything is happening, other than extreme pressure on my pelvic bones. it will be good for you when you have the baby though... less pushing. :)

Good question; I'm anxious to follow this thread. I am 35w pg and my gal's head is WAY down there too. My dr. seemed surprised, but didn't do a cervical exam (could just tell by ab palpatation). I asked if this meant she was "engaged" and he really didn't answer me, which is unlike my dr. Maybe you must do a cervical exam to determine engagement? Anyway, he DID say that it could be that I just have a roomy pelvis that she's settled into, which would be GREAT for my labor. I'm with you, though, and want to know if her position means she closer to making an appearance?

I hate to disappoint you guys, but my midwife started telling me that my baby was VERY low early in the third trimester. Each time I was checked, she commented on how low he was. He did come only one day after his due date (good for a first timer), but I pushed for three hours. Total time in active labor was 17 1/2 hours. I guess his position didn't make much difference.

James dropped at 32 weeks, I got the worst hemmoroids!!! I had an epidural, but his head was so low and directly on my bum, I didn't have a bm for two weeks before giving birth. I delivered 8 days late, and he was way down there for a very long time, I don't think it helps any, maybe with actual labour... less distance to travel, but as for labour early-- NOPE! :)

My doc said my dd was very low as well at my 38 week checkup...she came 4 days later and I only pushed for 20 minutes.....really good for a first baby. I think it all has to do with the birth ca___l, size, size of the baby, and how they are coming out. Good luck!
