How Do Contractions Feel Back To Front

I was just wondering because with BHs my stomach hardens like a rock for a minute and then fades away, they just feel uncomfortable. But I don't know what to expect with contractions, do they make uterus harden as well? Do they hurt from back to front? Or do they just feel like menstrual cramps in the lower front?

They feel different to different people, and for me they felt different in different stages of labor. The way to monitor them is their duration and frequency. Your uterus will harden like braxton hicks, but the pain you will feel will be unique to your experience.
