You poor thing I feel your nerves. I also went over with both mine, 1wk with dd & 6days with ds, but luckily I always went into labour before they could induce me. My friend however had to be induced as she went 2wks over & the contractions hit hard & fast for her. It is not always like this, depending on how they start your labour it may not be more painful than spontaneous labour. Have they told you how they plan on inducing you? I've heard the gel on your cervix is the closest to normal labour, but if they start it by oxytocin drip or breaking your waters it may come on faster & stronger. Goodluck & in the meantime have LOTS of s_x & do LOTS of walking to help bring the baby on naturally.

Yes, absolutely s_x and lots and lots and lots and lots of walking! This way you can try to bring it on yourself like E said. I have heard that inductions bring on contractions very hard and fast but I would imagine you have an epidural in you by then? I delivered naturally without an epi so I'm not sure of that. Just go out right now and start walking!!!! I walked around a mall for 6 hours before going intto labor with my son:) I guess a typically boy, just didn't want to shop anymore.

Ashley,I am a mom of soon to be 4. I have been induced 3x's so far. I have done the pitocin and the cervidel (?). It does hurt BUT, If you are planning on getting an epi. you will be fine. I have never gone into labor naturally on my own, so i don't know if it is easier. I will say this..this is my fourth child and i can't wait to deliver again. It is all worth it in the end.

I was induced 2 weeks ago and I had an amazing birth experience. I had no pain but I had an epi. I was fully dilated within like 4 hours and pushed a 10 pound baby out in 40 minutes. so try not to be too worried!! you can go read my birth story on the 3rd tri board for more info!! the only thing that sucked was getting the balloon in my cervix the night before to kick me into dilating but I'm not sure all hospitals/docs even do that. good luck!

Thanx ladies for all of your advice. I lost my mucus plug early this morning right before my doctors appt. Then when I went to the doctor she swept my membranes (I think thats what she called it) which, according to her, should bring on labour a little sooner. Im keeping my fingers crossed for tonight!!!

UMM I WAS INDUCED WITH MY FIRST. I HEARD THAT IT WAS SUPPOSE TO DREAG YOUR LABOR BUT MY LABOR WAS ONLY 9 HOURS WHICH ISNT BAD. I THINK THAT MY CONTRACTIONS WERE WAY HARDER GOING INTO LABOR MYSELF WITH MY SECOND. I THINL IT JUST DEPENDS ON YOUR BODY
