Has anyone out there had kidney stones AND delivered a baby? They say the pain in comparable. I'm 11.5 weeks, and the kidney stone pain was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. I'm a little freaked out. Any guidance anyone can give is appreciated. Thanks!

never had kidney stones, but I did have an abscess tooth once. I would have to say that pain was a 100 on a scale of 1-10, labor was an 8 on the same scale. That extra 0 is not a typo. So if you have had an abcess tooth compare those two pains.

I had kidney stones and the labor was much worse the worst thing I have ever felt. I have never had an absess tooth but I have heard they are terrible. The 2nd worse pain for me was a damaged nerve in my arm.Kidney stones did not compare to either for me but everyones diff.

I had a bout with kidney stones about 10 years ago. For me, the pain was similar to active labor. However, with labor, they can now administer pain-relief drugs that they didn't when I had kidney stones (they gave me morphine, but it didn't touch the pain). Anyway, I remember thinking the last time I went through that much pain, at least I got something out of it (a baby). With kidney stones, all you get, as Charlie Brown would say, is a rock.
