I am 39 weeks pregnant with my third child and at my last appointment on Wed. dr. said I was 1.5cm dilated, and last night I lost a huge amount of my mucus plug, this morning just a little, no bleeding, my contractions are pretty regular and getting alot stronger, what can I expect now?

I am at 22 weeks and just noticed a snot ball on my light day pad. I have had an irretible uterus for a week or so.Contractions and cramps! No pink show, and the mucous seems to sort of dribble out. Some people lose it all at once, others dont. I think it should be ok.

I am 39 weeks this week and went to my doctor today, they said I was dilated 3cm.,lost all mucus plug and having heavier contractions, but still not painful enough. Dr. says if I don't go by Thurs.they're admitting me and inducing labor. Yaaaaaaaaah!!! I'm so nervous. Is there anything I can do to not have to be induced? Any advice????/

answer for Amy to help start contractions, there are several things you can do: walk a lot do squatting exercises do something to stimulate your bowel (like eating something spicy) have s_x with your partner (s____n has that stuff that causes contractions)

I'm 39 weeks and 5 days away from my due date. I have been having contractions that come and go for the past week. Some are stronger than others and usually in the early morning around 3am-6am I will have a hard strong contractions that wakes me up in tears. I've been losing my mucus plug for the past week as well, It started right after the doctor checked to see if I was dialated. At first, I thought that the brown discharge was just from that and it could be true but then the next day I had brownish green discharge and it's been like that the past week. A couple days ago I thought my water broke. I noticed a puddle in my underwear and then during my shower, I had a bloody show. Just like all of you, I want to have this baby. I am tired of waiting. I have had back pain and have been quite swollen the whole third trimester. I've tried walking every day almost all day for the past week. Is this method really supposed to work. I've tried intercourse which I think helped progress the mucus plug. We did it right after the doctor's appointment. I think it thinned out the cervix a bit and I still haven't had a baby yet. When I was born, I was 1 week early and I weighed 9lbs 11oz.... I can't imagine how big I would have been at full term.. I am so nervous to have a big baby. I don't know if they will induce me or what.... Good Luck everyone!

Question to anyone.... I'm currently 36 weeks and had my first "internal" exam yesturday. I've been having a dark-bloody type of discharge ever since the appointment. Today, while using the restroom, I had quite a bit of dark-discaharge along with some mucus discharge also --- is this the "mucus plug"????

P - December 15

Very unlikely. It sounds like blood from your exam, which is normal and the mucus is discharge, normal too. The plug will be obvious, it's so thick and globby or stringy. It can't be smeared either, good way to tell.

Also bloody show and the mucus plug are confusing, they are two different things, but can happen at once. Many think they are one in the same, NOT true.

I am just over 19 weeks and am petrified that I am losing my mucus plug already. I occa__sionally have seen off-colored thicker mucuslike discharge for weeks and then yesterday I had a thick glob of yellow/greenish mucus come out. I am not petrified that I will go into labour early. Can anyone shed any light or share a similar experience?
