Does anyone have any experience using a normal epidural versus a walking epidural? I am thinking of getting a walking epidural, but everyone I talk to seems to have had a normal epidural. Thanks!

I've never heard of a walking epidural. I can't imagine how you could walk. Then again, they numbed me up so well that I felt ZERO pain, even at 10 cm I was laughing away with family. If tehre is such a thing as a walking one, you wouldn;t be able to be that numb in order to walk. So I say a normal one. Also.....as much as I loathed the idea of a catheter...the idea just gave me the creeps....it was the best thing ever! lol I never wanted them to take it out. You never notice it's even in there. And ya know how right now you have to pee every 2 minutes? That feeling is totally gone. As long as that thing was in I never felt the need to pee. After 9 months of pregnancy, it was pure bliss! :D

Interesting! Here is some information about "walking" epidurals, AKA combined spinal epidurals: http://www.childbirth.org/articles/walkingepi.html (no dashes).
