Pineapple To Induce Labor

What's this I hear about eating pineapple to get labor started? I'm 39 weeks and have had the most insane craving for pineapple for the last few days. I think I ate a whole one today! And I just went out at midnight to get another. When I got home came across a post in the forum that mentioned eating it to induce labor. Is there anything to it? Am I going to send myself into labor like this? I hope it doesn't happen right away cause I have my long-awaited shower tomorrow!

I think you would have to eat several fresh pineapples a day for a few days to have much effect. You'd be more likely to get kanker sores in your mouth than go into labor! :)
